The CCL dates were announced today, we host on 2/21 and travel to Toluca on 2/28.

Also home openers are supposed to be announced today by the sounds of it.

According to a post on Reddit, SeatGeek leaked our home opener. If true we host Philadelphia on 3/10, which means an away game on the first weekend of the season..

So away to Toluca on 2/28 and then away to LAFC on 3/3. Two away matches, one of them international, in four days' time.

Fun fact that probably only I find interesting, this'll be the 6th time we open a season against the same team we finished the regular season the year before against.

    96-97 San Jose
    09-10 DC
    11-12 DC
    12-13 Philly
    14-15 New York
    18-19 LAFC?

STM tickets for Toluca and Union are in SeatGeek and are also on-sale to the public.

Notably, it appears that the Toluca match is being counted as part of the season ticket package.

Yeah, all CCL and USOC games minus the final I believe are included.

That sucks. I thought MLS wanted to encourage CCL play by giving the clubs a bit of breathing room. The travel equivalent for MLS games would be @atl followed four days later with @port. Seems a bit mean spirited.

The schedule has been released. As expected, RBNY and Atlanta play here this year, so that's good. We don't get a home game against Cincy though. :(

Eight home games before June is a bit weird too.

We have an 11pm CT kick off for the game in Salt Lake for some reason. No home games in June. And our closest roadtrips are on Sundays and Wednesdays...

You're right, no Minnesota luck AGAIN. Damn.

And why are less than half our games on Saturdays? Does everyone else have this problem? At least the bulk of our home games are Sat games.

Yes most teams have the same lack of Saturdays we do. Everyone has more midweek games as well.

We knew the midweek games were coming because of condensing the schedule. We might see an earlier start to the season next year and a consequent increase in weekend games. But still. I know those are our league's TV spots, but that's so many Sunday games. Though I will admit I love sitting down and watching MLS all Sunday afternoon, so I guess I'll deal.

The 11pm start time is now showing 9pm thankfully.

We have 9 national TV games as well btw.

Thankfully? Speak for yourself. My times, as usual, suck. If you don't have an afternoon start, I tend to have a start time between 2 and 4 am. The 11 pm game was at least 6 am

Saw it pointed out tonight, the playoffs could be interesting if KC were to get the 2, 3, or 4 seed. The first round of the playoffs is the 19th-20th of October, the same weekend as the NASCAR race. Could move the game to Friday, but even that has an Arca race at the speedway.

That just means we need a 1 seed again. Just don't blow it on the way to the Cup.

This has happened before, hasn't it? Maybe not with a playoff game, but a regular season (and attendance is the same). I remember tailgating to the dulcet tones of screaming engines. Don't the weekend races end by 6 or 7 pm, so they could just back up the start time to 8:30 or even 9:30 and it would be a hassle, but do-able.

I don't recall us ever having played on race weekend. With those weekend's usually falling during the regular season they've been scheduled around. There's been the "Dale Earnhart Experience" where you can ride in one around the track that I've heard while tailgating.

We've also had concerts like Kanrocksas and Rockfest when we've had games, that's why I thought putting the game on Friday could work just with adjusted parking patterns for the game.

Rockfest was a total shitshow. At least I imagine NASCAR is a bit smaller of a draw so less ridiculous, but if the racetrack is expecting to use its parking lots, that would be a mess.

If the speedway lots were to be out, you're talking about likely having to make a deal with NFM, and the Legends to use more of their lots (along with the already utilized tbones parking and Red lot). And that's likely just for season ticket holders. Those that don't have parking passes may have to be shuttled from somewhere like Schlitterbahn or something like that.

I am completely capable of having mistaken the noise generated by something called Kanrocksas as screaming engines, I suppose.
