    As Asimov could say: "This is 'bots' usual excuse when they aren't abiding by the 2nd Law of Robotic!" :rolleyes:

    Nah, the bot was abiding by the 2nd Law. I told it to do another project (much more complex) before coming back to this one.

    Happy Mother's Day!
    This is second week without the US Nats, and I probably over-thought this week's picks;

    NJNY 1 v Washington 1 ;
    UT 0 v HOU 1 ;
    Pride 1 v Thorns 2 ;
    Red Stars 1 v Courage 2 ;

    I would have predicted a SkyBlue win, but losing Sheridan and Johnson balaced the scale
    Royals still w/o US players & now Scott - Houston lost the Canandians; still have Brooks, Huerta, Daly and I like HOU's trajectory.
    Pride have Marta and are due for a better game - POR's back 4 is hole-y, but the Thorns, bonding on the road, are still better than ORL.
    CHI loss of Mautz is big, but still have Kerr, Nagasato DiBernardo, Colaprico, and Short -- NC has Williams, Hamilton, Zerboni, Debinha (who won't be so far off target this week), Sully, Erceg, Mathias, Hinkle and the Courage will not play poorly two weeks in a row. I am going with the Liverpool win being a positive, even though Riley left the team to be at Anfield. Leah Pruitt left during the week to graduate from USC.

    Here's what the BrainTrust cyborg (average of all predictions) has for this week:

    Sky Blue 1.33 (1) v Spirit 0.83 (1), Goal Differential 0.50
    Royals 1.25 (1) v Dash 0.75 (1), Goal Differential 0.50
    Pride 0.75 (1) v Thorns (1.67) 2, Goal Differential 0.92
    Red Stars 1.33 (1) v Courage 1.58 (2), Goal Differential 0.25

    The rounding convention the cyborg follows (round up anything 0.5 or higher) overrules the Goal Differential.

    Well, I was one of just two people to nail the Red Stars win, but since I didn't predict correctly the goals scored by either team nor the goal difference, those who predicted a 1-1 draw had my same points. :unsure:

    Congratulations to @59Amerinorsk for the exact score, although we all know his method of prediction is... a little unorthodox, to say the least! :laugh:

    Yes, a special shout out to 59Amerinorsk for nailing the Red Stars v Courage score. Awesome.

    And, another special shout out to Smallchief, who with a 5-point week has opened up a 3-point overall lead, which is very impressive. 59Amerinorsk likewise had a 5-point week.

    After Smallchief, the standings are quite compact. That doesn't include Blaze20, who I think has decided to drop out of the weekly competition.

    Here are the standings after week 5. If anyone can't see the table, let me know and I'll use the alternate method for posting it:

    Raise your hand if you, at the beginning of the season, thought HOU and UTA would be above the group NC/CHI/POR a month in.

    Also, the Reign probably liked their bye even less than us predictors did - all four teams directly above them won.

    I see I'm number one in predictions...after a dismal performance last year. Am I getting smarter? .

    Well, as somebody said, if you gave a billion monkeys a billion typewriters one of them would write King Lear.

    Have you changed your predition method?. So far I’m using my bowling ball (I don’t have a crystal ball) but I think the holes on it cause a lot of interferences. :D

    Week 6

    Reign 2-0 Sky Blue
    Spirit 1-2 Thorns
    Courage 1-1 Royals
    Dash 1-1 Red Stars

    Given how you're doing, the bowling ball is doing pretty well!

    The robot's predictions -- it looks like the robot and bowling ball are pretty closely related:

    Reign 3 v Sky Blue 1
    Spirit 0 v Thorns 1
    Courage 2 v Royals 1 (only prediction with a goal differential and result different than Tapas&Futbol)
    Dash 1 v Red Stars 1
