The San Jose Earthquakes are scheduled to play against Reno 1868 FC at Greater Nevada Field on Saturday, February 9th at 12:15pm PST. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
We need to play tougher pre-season competition this season than last. We need to be properly prepared, and we need to expect the competition to be tough. We were not ready mentally last season. Then everything went to hell. GO Quakes!! - Mark
Better coaching will help, but yeah, we need at least two or three new starters. If we're going 4-4-2, then we'll need a new starting quality forward (using Wondo as a backup). We need a new GK, should have snagged one in the re-entry draft, because I'm thinking that JT will be good enough to start in '21 or '22. And we need new strategies and tactics, and new training methods, and motivation!!! Dang! Good thing I have lots of whiskey on hand and many vacations already planned for next year. GO Quakes!! - Mark

Quakes @ Reno Saturday February 9. Quakes v. Seattle Saturday February 23 @ Avaya We need more preseason games than that. Quakes v. Monterrey Sunday March 24 @ Avaya - Clearly NOT a preseason game, but it was mentioned in another thread, so I thought I'd kill any questions about it pre-emptively. Go Quakes!! - Mark
Where did the Seattle preseason match info come from? I'm trying to schedule a work trip and want to make sure I'm around if there is a game
Heard from my rep... there is a game vs. Seattle on Feb 23. It's not part of our season tickets, but is open bowl GA seating.
Friendly reminder preseason’s a week away. ⚫️🔵 https://t.co/0E0q72C9yy— San Jose Earthquakes (@SJEarthquakes) January 16, 2019 GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
The irony is that last year's preseason was touted as the team's first (or at least the first in a very long time) in which the entire roster was present from the very beginning and thus would have more time to gel. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I see Atlanta United don't officially start preseason training until Jan 24, which is also a week away, but MLS did post this video from a day or two ago: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2260960764161488 Wonder what our players and coaches are up to right now...
There should be a calendar that shows when the guys report, where they train (Tucson again?), and so on. But I can't find it. Thought MLS published a preseason schedule for each team a week or two back? Maybe I've been drinking too much. Go Quakes!! We'll be shitty again! - Mark
Here it is!! We report 21Jan19, that's Monday, which is MLK day. MLS and the Quakes not observing MLK Day?! WTF?! Go Quakes!! stepping in it again in 2019!! - Mark
Who cares if it's MLK day or not? Sports teams play meaningful games on all sorts of holidays... here we're talking about getting weighed, physicals, and handing out jerseys and whatnot, for a few hours that day.
Not to wax all political, but it bugs me. Doesn't have to bug you. And you're right that sports teams do play on other national holidays. So I should just drink more whiskey and relax.
