Morioka scored tonight his 6th goal in his 10th match of the season, as his team is now leading 0-3 in their away match against Ueda’s team Cercle Brugge, who are dead last of the league table winning just one match of their 11 league matches so far.
Morioka scored tonight and again from a PK. His 7th goal of the season, and he is the team’s second top-scorer after Iranian Kaveh Rezai who has 8 goals so far. His team are second in the league table and they are in contention for either CL or EL spots.
Morioka starts in the Belgian league's sesson opener against reigning champions Club Brugge. Charleroi will play in the Eurpa League this season. Good luck for Morioka.

Morioka is doing a grat job with his team so far. His team are the runaway leaders of the Belgian league with 5 wins in 5 matches, with two of them coming against last season's league champions Club Brugge and Cup winners Royal Antwerp. Morioka was involved in the two goals his team scored this round, surging forward and applying high pressure on opposing players to win the ball and pass it to his teammates in scoring positions. Royal Charleroi are playing the most organised football in this season's Belgian league, with high-level of team work and harmony between the players (a thing which is uncommon among most Belgian teams). As for Morioka's role, he is listed as an under-the-top or a No.10, but he is playing more like a free-flowing box to box midfielder. He is not comitting himself to a specific position, as he is always covering the gaps left by his teammates, or playing as a decoy to distract opposing defenders while giving his teammates some free space, or providing cover for some of the central midfielders or wingbacks when they push forward. Morioka is basically the "vacuum cleaner" in Royal Charleroi system, and the role assigned to him requires huge positional awareness and vigilance, which says it all about the quality and value Morioka is bringing to the team. I am interested in seeing how the team will play in Europa League, and it will be a big challenge and opportunity for Morioka and his Charleroi's teammates to showcase their quality if they manage to make it to the EL groups stage.
Morioka's Charleroi will host Asano's Partizan Belgrade in the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League next Thursday.
Morioka with a nice assist for the 1-0 goal against Beerschot. If Charleroi manage to win this match they will make it 6 wins out 6 matches, retain their 100% record, cement their place top of the table, and increase the difference between them and their closest rival to at least 5 points.
Morioka was injured shortly after his team scored their second goal, and was forced to be subbed out around the 60th minute. He played today much deeper into the midfield and not behind the front three as he used to play since the start of the season, as Charleroi played what it looked like a: 4-1-1-3-1 formation, which turned into 2-3-1-3-1 when the team are attacking, and 4-2-3-1 when the team are defending. Still, Morioka was playing more like a "vacuum cleaner" rather than being comitted to a specific position. After Morioka was subbed out Charleroi lost control of the midfield, and needed some hardwork from their wingers and side-backs to strengthen the midfield in the absence of Morioka and win some of the duels. Impressive season so far for Charleroi, 6 wins out of 6 matches, scored 12 goals and conceded just 2, with 4 clean sheets. They already defeated top of the table teams such as reigning champions Club Brugge, Cup winners Royal Antwerp, and Beerschot. They are yet to face Standard Liege and Anderlecht, out-of-form Gent, and the inconsistent Genk, but if they maintain their current form and momentum they will be clearly one of the favourites to secure a Champions League spot for next season, and might as well win the league. About Morioka, first, let's hope his injury is not so serious. Second, he really deserves a chance to play for the NT next month, as based on his consistency and current form he will be a better alternative than Gaku Shibasaki. However, as we all know, Shibasaki is viewed as irreplaceable by Moriyasu.
Morioka played the full 90 minutes and provided an assist for his team's lone goal as they lost 2-1 against Ito's Genk, and dropped to the second place in the league table as a result. Morioka again played as a creative defensive midfielder, launching many of his team's attacks, and interrupting many of the opponents' attacks. 1 goal 4 assists so far this season, with some excellent performances. Hopefully, Moriyasu is monitoring him and taking notes, as Moriyasu said Morioka is a Number.10, while Morioka is playing mainly as a Number.8. With the inconsistency of Shibasaki, Morioka is a much needed player for Japan currently.
Morioka was invovled in scoring 2 goals for his team yesterday, and was involved in scoring 2 goals last week as well. He is arguably the most consistent and efficient Japanese player in Europe, yet he is the least to be talked about.
The team's right-back Kayembe received his first Belgian NT call-up for Belgium's upcoming Nations League matches this month. The team is the most organised team of the league, playing well-disciplined football. Tactically they are above the level of the Belgian league.
Morioka with another influential performance tonight. As Charleroi's match against Anderlecht was heading into a scoreless draw with only seconds left in the stoppage time, Morioka launched an attack by delivering a well-placed through pass, only to see his teammates losing the ball to Anderlecht's defenders, then Morioka surged forward to take care of the last opportunity by himself. Morikoa dispossessed the ball from an Anderlecht defender, pushed forward into the penalty area, dribbled through two defenders, feinting a shot to distract the GK, and then he passed the ball to his unmarked teammate, Gholizadeh, who was completely unmarked inside the penalty box. Gholizadeh fired a shot which slipped under Anderlecht's GK to give Charleroi a precious victory over one of their direct rivals for European spots, as Charleroi are now provisionally 2nd in the league table. While Morioka orchestrated Charleroi's come-from-behind win last Tusday against Cercle Brugge, as Morioka created the chance of the first goal, scored the third, and assisted the fourth, as Charleroi came from 2-0 behind at half-time to win by 3-4 in full-time. 2 goals and 7 assists so far this season, as he is ranked as the 3rd best assist-provider in the Belgian Pro League. It is a pity Moriyasu is not considering him for the NT, when he is clearly a better alternative than the inconsistent Shibasaki.
New season, new match, new assist. Morioka opens his assist-count of the season with a nice assist in his team's season opener. His assist: Chris Bedia 0-1 #KVOCHA pic.twitter.com/NZI6SoEb5T— JPLGoalsReplay (@JPLGoalsReplay) July 24, 2021
