The previous PSV manager rated his defensive contribution highly. Also, his dribble success rate is getting better. That said, he needs to improve his end product.

Not saying he is bad but he has been stagnating for a long while now it feels.

Maybe he is a similar player to his Asian predecessor at PSV, Park Ji-Sung.

I respect your opinion but I think being a regular starter for PSV at 21 is a sign of progression.

Well, cant disagree. I just expected more I guess. He was tearing up the league a while there.

Sounds like you'll see him in Bundesliga next season, loaned to Arminia Bielefeld.

Good move for him. He was stagnating in the Netherlands in the past 2 years, not to mention that PSV's new manager (head coach) does not want him.

Hopefull he can help the club survive relegation and stay with them in the Bundesliga long term instead.

It’s doubtful Bielefeld would have the money to keep Doan long term.

Doan scored his first goal in German Bundesliga against Bayern Munich from a well-executed counterattack.

It seems he is improving gradually since his move to Germany.

He was stagnating in the Netherlands for the past 1.5 seasons, and his transfer to PSV Eindhoven did not help either. He needed a new and more competitive challenging atmosphere to develop, and this is what playing in the German Bundesliga will give him.

Playing against the likes of Emmen and Fortuna Sittard cannot be compared to playing against any team in German Bundesliga, even teams in the lower reaches of the table (let alone playing against Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund).

I've also watched bits of him and he's having a very good season actually. At least has beaten my expectations so far.

Seems that playing in the middle suits him. Maybe he can be tried as an AM? His workrate and finishing is not bad imo.

Assist today for Doan, after a nice exchange of passes on the right-wing, which ended in Doan delivering a cross into the penalty box to one of his teammates to score Bielefeld's only goal today.

An unfortunate defeat for Bielefeld considering how well they played.
Wolfsburg capitalsed on two-minutes of mis-concentration from Arminia Bielefeld's defence to score their two goals in a space of two minutes.

Doan had two very good dribbling efforts before both Wolfsburg's goals, which would put Bielefeld ahead as he would have one-on-one against the GK in both ocassions, but both of his efforts were intercepted by opposing defenders. He should have passed the ball to one of his teammates in both occasions instead of trying to dribble past the whole Wolfsburg defence.

Anyway, strong start to his debut Bundesliga season, 1 goal and 1 assist in the first 5 matches, and cemented his place as a regular starter and integral part of the team.
