Who wants an early season hot take? Good thing San Jose brought in high level foreign coach. They have lost their first two home games by the a combine negative 4 goal differential.

Frank deBoer is an idiot. His hiring is the first big mistake by an Atlanta organization that everyone has been slobbering over. No one can explain why youd hire a guy whose last 2 jobs - Inter and Crystal Palace - were unmitigated disasters. Jose o ce called him the worst manager in England. So yeah, lets hire him. As someone else said, Atlanta couldnt muster a win at home in front of 70,000 fans against Wooden Spoon favorite FCC. They only got 10 shots against a wretched defense that allowed 24 last week. The only bright spot is that theyre playing Philadelphia this week, and Jim Curtin is another complete incompetent who may not make it to June.
If I’m reading this correctly, Cincinnatians who don’t have cable or an antenna have to pay $30/ month to stream Star 64 matches as the $5/ month ESPN+ will be blacked out. https://t.co/NdavhJ6UtG— Brad Weigel (@bradleysweigel) March 11, 2019 oooof.
Frank de Boer apparently dropped this gem after the game: Frank de Boer on criticisms and how it may be weighing on him: They were a little bit spoiled with the results last season. Everybody expected and that also normal. But everybody also saw what happened with Toronto when they played champions league last season. 1/2 #ATLUTD— Eric Quintana (@EricQuintanaTF) March 11, 2019 Saying "Hey, look, we might pull a Toronto..." is probably not what Atlanta's fans want to hear.
My initial thought is it is bringing in a third type of market (regional) instead of straight in market or out of market. Their local tv deal has a small footprint and this new deal expands their "in market" footprint by putting it on a streaming platform that doesn't have a lot more to offer beyond the FCC games. It's not awful but does suck for people on the outskirts of the FCC footprint where they probably should qualify to watch through ESPN+ but now don't. Basically it's putting their games on what is the major con of cord cutting, having to subscribe to too many different services. I think the platform also had issues with their DC United coverage in the first two weeks too.

Very odd signing. They already have Gutierrez, Rowe, Croizet, and Busio to play the #8 roles. Busio looks like a monster in the making, would hate to see the stalled and overhyped Zelalem get time over Busio.
I felt bad for them, and then I saw this, so I guess their fans have money to burn. Only $25 for a limited time. https://cincyshirts.com/collections/home-page/products/fc-cincinnati-first-point-tee
He needs games and health so this is a low cost/high upside signing. If he can reach his potential then he is better than everyone in that group...till Busio develops fully.
Seriously, a shirt for their first point? What’s next? A cap for the first hat trick? A bank for the first PK save? Sheesh.
Not sure how I missed it but how were the Galaxy able to sign Corona without going through the allocation process?
Well, it's MLS, after all, so there's really no way of knowing for sure. But, this article implies that the Galaxy made a discovery claim on Corona a decade ago: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/03/07/la-galaxys-signing-joe-corona-was-eight-years-making And his name didn't appear on the "2019 Allocation Ranking List" that's supposed to include: Select U.S. Men’s National Team players. Select elite U.S. Youth National Team players. Players transferred outside of MLS garnering a transfer fee of at least $500,000 (USD). https://www.mlssoccer.com/allocation Also, it's the Galaxy, so...
