00'15" 0-0 Hamilton touches past Brooks and back-cuts her through arc tangent left to spot, shoots up centerline, Campbell slides out through 10m and kicks-saves away. Ln.Williams shoots right instep from box top center, just wide left low.
1147289221864009736 is not a valid tweet id

06' 1-0 Chapman taps back to Ohai at circle back left touch. Ohai tries a quick square pass right, Mathias deflects it to Ln.Williams and starts a sprint up right touch, Ln.Williams one-touch pass into her stride. Mathias beats Brooks and Chapman to 17m box right -- meanwhile, Hamilton runs on RB Murray's heels through box top center, veers left to fake toward her outside shoulder (ceding the inside). Mathias ground cross through 9m 6-right, Polkinghorne stretches to block but misses. Hamilton front-cuts Murray on the inside, arrives at 7m center first, slide-pokes under Campbell into center back low.

10' 1-0 Hanson passes square right to K.Mewis at 27m mid-left. K.Mewis touches to 22m mid-left, shoots left instep outswinging to right 90, glances off crossbar and over.

18' 2-0 Hinkle long pass from circle back box left to 15m mid-left for Hamilton racing Polkinghorne side-by-side from 40m -- Polkinghorne maintains inside position, but a 1-v-1 speed duel is not her forte. Hamilton's 1st touch cuts inside to 12m 6-left and gets separation, 2nd touch right instep bend over Campbell's right hand reaching across, into back right edge 1/2 high.

24' 2-1 Simon challenges Zerboni at 27m mid-left, ball reflects to K.Mewis at 24m mid-left. Mewis one-touch pass to Simon veering out to box top left, square return pass to Mewis at arc left. Kurtz steps up to stop ball, Mewis kicks quick left toe-poke between Kurtz and Roccaro, beats Rowland's dive-and-roll rightward, just inside left post low.

    Nomenclature :D

31' 3-1 Brooks kicks long from circle back right -- sole-blocked by O'Sullivan jumping and facing away. Ball reflects behind Brooks directly into Ln.Williams' stride at 35m mid-left. Polkinghorne is again caught high in a 1-v-1, Ln.Williams backs her down and spins her at 27m left post, remorselessly toe-pokes past her to 16m 3-right, sprints past her (from 1m behind to 2m in front). Campbell comes out to 6m, Ln.Williams shoots one-touch right instep bend over her right hand, perfectly into left side netting 3/4 high. Welp, Brooks/Polkinghorne vs. North Carolina's speed is a mismatch by design, and a footrace indicates that things have already gone wrong.

39' 3-1 Polkinghorne longball from circle back right to 17m arc left. Rowland inexplicably comes out that high, goes to catch/smother low but realizes ball will bounce 1m above box top, pulls hands back and lets ball bounce untouched over her right shoulder -- wide left.

43 3-2 Campbell rolls to Schmidt at own 25m circle right, she turns without pressure and dribbles to circle back right. Longball to 25m right post, Simon has 1/2 step lead on Roccaro, settles ball perfectly into own stride on a full run, follows to 17m. Right instep snipe beats Rowland's dive across 6-top, just inside right post low, bounces up off bottom right back pipe and into the roof.

    HT 3-2.

46' 3-2 North Carolina subs in (1 of 3) #27 Lauren Milliet for #12 Leah Pruitt.

53' 3-2 Yellow card on Schmidt.

54' 4-2 NC fk at circle back right, square pass left to Kurtz. Kurtz passes to Hinkle at circle top left touch, one-touch pass toward Milliet coming back for ball at 30m mid-left. Milliet raises knee-high left foot, flicks or misses ball completely, right through hapless Polkinghorne's legs behind her. Ball continues to Ln.Williams at arc top mid-left, she bends a ground cross to Hamilton facing away at spot, spinning to box out Chapman. Hamilton spins cw to face up, fakes a shot, Chapman lunges down to block. Hamilton cuts left foot past her to 7m right post, Campbell comes out late to 5m, Hamilton shoots right instep past Campbell's right ribs, across mouth into back left edge 1/8 high. Hamilton has wingggs on her feet tonight!

    65' 4-2 Houston subs in:
    - (1 of 3) #11 Sofia Huerta for #7 Kealia Ohai
    - (2 of 3) #20 Lindsay Agnew for #4 Allysha Chapman.

69' 4-2 Yellow card on Hanson, for a foul on Hamilton.

71' 5-2 Hinkle passes to Debinha at 30m left post. Debinha spins quickly cw and nutmegs Hanson, dribbles to arc top, passes to Hamilton at 15m box right. Hamilton faces up Agnew, cuts inside to 14m 6-right, shoots hard left instep pull to near post and wrong-foots Campbell moving centerward, past her late dive into 1/4 right back low.

73' 5-2 Simon swings at a high bounce at 4m left post, Roccaro(?) bumps her down from behind, no call, Rowland collects.

75' 5-2 North Carolina subs in (2 of 3) #16 Julia Spetsmark for #23 Kristen Hamilton.

77' 5-2 Houston subs in (3 of 3) #28 Cambria Privett for #10 Christine Nairn.
84' 5-2 North Carolina subs in (3 of 3) #25 Meredith Speck for #10 Debinha.

88' 5-2 Stoppage, Mathias is seated, takes a drink.
89' 5-2 Mathias walks off. Her jersey is so soaked it looks a couple kg heavier. That's all from fluid loss. Hot and humid day? NC resume with 10.

90' 5-2 Mathias returns, is now ... LM? She's playing way above circle top :coffee:

90+1' (of +3') 5-2 Agnew crosses from 12m box left to 10m right post, Privett heads back to 2m left post. K.Mewis races Rowland for it, slides and swings left roundhouse, Rowland catches it point-blank and hangs on.

90+3' (of +3') 5-2 Ln.Williams faces up Murray at circle top left touch, plays a poke-past-and-chase, beats Murray with speed ... but ball rolls 25m and into near touch.

    FT 5-2.

Polkinghorne's was supposedly covering on 3 of the goals Houston let in. She needs to sit.

Hamilton drank her go-go juice tonight, with that 4 goal performance. Debinha was amazed.

37' 0-0 Seiler pounces on a turnover at 25m arc left, drives to arc tangent left, shoots right instep just wide left low, as Murphy's dive probably had left post covered.

40' 0-0 Klingenberg chips from arc top wide left to 3m 2-left, Murphy catches.

40' 0-0 Ball ground cross from 24m wide right skips through legs to 5m right post, Murphy smothers.

44' 0-0 Carpenter spins past Onumonu to 7m box right, ground cross to 4m right post. Foord hop-volleys right instep down behind own left foot, ball bounces up and spins toward right post 1/3 high. Murphy jumps centerward, plants and lunges left, scoops left hand away to the right. Ball stays in along 1m, Oyster dribbles away.

45+2' 0-0 Portland fk from wide right, to 6m 1/4 left. Murphy comes out and lands through the line, punches away, two players (1 from each side) go down, no call. Ball awaits the bounce at 12m 6-left, chips knee-high right instep mini-lob with Murphy not back yet, just over bar onto roof 1/5 right.

    HT 0-0. Portland 6(1)-(1)3 shots(sog), 2-2 corners, 15-2 crosses, 4-5 fouls. Portland are overrunning Reign's midfield.

52' 0-0 Groom jumps backward for a header at circle back wide right, Sinclair jumps straight up, Groom's arms spread for balance and her right elbow bonks Sinclair's face. Foul, yellow card on Groom, she disagrees with both calls.

55' 0-1 Barnes fk at circle top mid-left, scripted play(?), high outswings to arc top 6-right. Theresa slices a volley not goalward ;) to 15m arc left, Purce heads it away to 18m. Celia swings waist-high right roundhouse down to 17m 1/4 left, it glances off Menges' heels, Onumonu(?) stabs it back out to arc tangent left. Celia steps into it, shoots one-touch right foot through legs across mouth, rising past Eckerstrom's left hand, into back right edge 1/2 high. Jiménez Delgado's 1st NWSL goal!

59' 0-1 Portland subs in (2 of 3) #38 Simone Charley for #27 Elizabeth Ball.

64' 0-1 Charley spins past Catley down box right to 13m, Celia chases on the outside and body-checks her down from behind, flattens her into box and trips backward over her. Foul just outside box, yellow card on Celia.

65' 0-1 Klingenberg fk at 13m box right, to 5m 3-right, headed out back to her. Celia(?) closes her down, pokes ball away, Klingenberg trips her down from slightly behind and trips over her. Foul on Klingenberg.

66' 0-1 Charley overtakes Theresa not swiveling at own 24m center, steals and drives to 16m arc right, shot blocked and Celia(?) volleys away. Groom receives through circle center, sprints north on a 1-v-3 counter, does the poke-inside run-outside behind Reynolds through arc top mid-left, pulls up and settles at 17m arc left. Onumonu sprints past her down mid-left, Groom dinks a through-ball into her stride, Seiler runs between and digs ball away, clears upfield.

    67' 0-1 Portland subs in (3 of 3) #8 Andressinha for #35 Gabby Seiler.

69' 0-0 Charley turns down to 12m wide right, cross blocked over endline right.

70' 0-0 Stoppage, Onumonu is down on one knee. Trainer examines her, she resumes.

71' 0-0 Andressinha right ck, outswings to 3m 5-left. Charley looms over Groom's back, contested jump, glance-heads wide left. I think she bumped into Groom's buttocks and rotated forward, hence ball skimmed off her crown instead of meeting her forehead.

76' 0-1 Reign FC subs in (1 of 3) #27 Addison Steiner for #2 Shea Groom. Steiner's flowing pink locks looks like ... Maisie Williams

79' 0-1 Reign right ck, to 4m center, bounces off Onumonu's head + 1-2 others, out to 9m 1/3 left. Steiner hop-heads over the wall to goalline center, Eckerstrom catches face-high.

81' 0-1 Portland serve to 8m 3-right, Barnes heads rightward through 3m 6-right. Purce veers to chase, Oyster follows from the inside and leans-upon her, folds Purce over almost horizontal. No call :p

83' 0-1 Reign FC subs in (1 of 3) #33 Stephanie Cox for #25 Ifeoma Onumonu.

86' 0-1 Carpenter right throw-in at 9m, it bounces untouched at 4m mid-right. Proffitt heads a bad pop-up almost straight up to 3m 6-right, Sinclair heads across to 7m center. Purce is wide-open coming from the left, shoots one-touch right roundhouse but rushes the (half-)volley in her haste, way high over bar. Then she tears her headband off, throws it down and stalks away. Don't rush the volley!

90' 0-1 Klingenberg crosses from 25m wide left to spot, Brynjarsdóttir pushes self against Cox's back, doesn't get through and ball bounces over. +5'.

90+2' (of +5') 0-1 Andressinha(?) serves from 30m center to 4m 4-right for Purce and Charley chasing 2-v-3, Murphy comes across and catches low on knees, no rebound.

90+4' (of +5') 0-1 Raso cuts centerward across arc top box left, Theresa tugs her left arm back and she goes down. No call , ball rolls back to Klingenberg, she serves down 6-left and Murphy lets it roll over.

90+5' (of +5') 0-1 Celia dribbles 1-v-3 past circle top wide right, HC Andonovski tells her go to the flag. Celia adventurously tries the dump-and-chase past Klingenberg, but she's not winning that footrace :p

FT 0-1. Reign FC's 3rd straight road win! They vault to #1 for a day on 20 pts, pending WAS-ORL tomorrow with Washington on 18 pts.
