I didn't see the game, I just watched the brief ESPN highlights. I imagine Nats fans heads are exploding over on the Nats forum. I bet it is sort of amusing.
That's a funny place to go, never seen so many out of touch fans raving about some guy he has so little pro playing experience but they are sure he is the next Messi/ Ronaldo/ Who ever. Not to mention 50% are just dead set against whoever the Head Coach is. In hindsite JK is looking pretty good with a lot of what he saying about the state of US Soccer and things that need to happen. No where near 100% correct but more hits than misses in hindsite.
Not really, at the end of the day he still couldn't get results. Maybe he should have Stewar'ts job, but not Berhalter's.
Proposed minor league overhaul raises questions about future of Colorado Springs baseball https://gazette.com/sports/proposed...jcvu1PVYERcMg6RlU67-1s6L3tNf2GT2jxMPDR2HRT_DQ Not Rapids related but, if this happens, it might give the Switchbacks an exclusive, wide-open market. Also, interesting implications across the minor-league sports landscape across the US. Overall, this is disappointing as I like minor league baseball.
The new issue of Four Four Two (the one with the Spurs cover) has a nice article on the Caribous of Colorado ... worth a look
I *wish* they could do "bring your dog to a game" day. I am sure the logistics would be insane, but could be fun!
Details on Inter Miami's $966M Stadium https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/oct/22/miami-freedom-park-stadium-david-beckham
Always hard to judge these drawings. Arsenic is a nice touch though, competes with the Rapids plague.
And somehow NYCFC is still managing to put out a pretty good team all while playing on a baseball field.... Heck, their own home playoff game tonight is at a Citi field tonight instead of Yankee stadium, thanks to the Yankees advancing through the MLB playoffs. What’s even funnier is that they didn’t take down the net behind home plate, so you have to watch the TV feed through the netting
I’ve seen some big defensive blunders with Marvel, Ugo, etc., but that PK foul by the NYCFC defender to lose the game at the 87th minute was the worst. No time to get it back.
The natural feeling around these parts is to hate RSL. I clearly do. Part of the reason I've hated RSL is because time and time again Rimando pulled something out of his ass, played lights out, and thwarted the 'Pids. A stonewall. A stonewall that's earned RSL countless wins and points over his career. I can't believe I'm about to say this.... Jesus.... I proudly tipped my cap and gave the SOB a standing ovation - in my living room - at the conclusion of last night's RSL-Sounders game. Though a loss (thank goodness) it was a vintage Rimando performance. He was outstanding. And his post game interview.....you could feel that emotion. It was really cool to see both teams, at the whistle, make a beeline towards Rimando. That's respect. The highest respect, in fact. It's gonna be weird not seeing Rimando between the sticks during Rocky Mountain Cup clashes. It's gonna feel a little empty. Well.... that is until we beat their asses next season.
Tab Ramos to be named Houston Dynamo boss https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...-coach-tab-ramos-be-named-houston-dynamo-boss
We were sort of obsessed with this while watching. I think those nets must stay all year, otherwise why wouldn't they take it down? My buddy speculated maybe it was fan or pitch safety to keep fans from running or throwing things on the field. I agree Ramando, though beer league body type - was an outstanding goal MLS level goal keeper. And seems like a nice guy.
Two months and two days at the helm and he gone. Wilmer Cabrera is out in Montreal. The Impact say his contract will not be extended.— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) October 24, 2019
Saw a tweet that said thy're a permanent instillation and not designed to be removed. I'm sure they could have been, but the Mets weren't going to go through all that trouble for a one-off game.
One source tells me a big reason Zlatan most likely won’t return next season is because of the traveling. This season was more condensed and he played more games then last season. At 38 it gets tiring and it’s hard to recover with the flight inconveniences. #LAGalaxy— MLS Moves (@MLSMoves) October 25, 2019 Zlatan: "What happens next year? I don't know. If I stay it will be good for MLS because the whole world will watch it. If I don't stay, nobody will remember what MLS is."— Arash Markazi (@ArashMarkazi) October 25, 2019 This guy is something else, I still want him back for 2020.
