Its too bad the only access to many of the games is through streaming and like you said, paid ACC Network access. During the season, games are all over SEC Network, Big10 Network, Pac 12, ESPN U and then once torunament starts,,,,nothing! A lot has to do with basketball starting up I would assume. Why does NCAA Volleyball tourney and softball tourney generate so much more fanfare and TV interest? Geographical match ups first round are a joke. Basically NCAA telling us that fair competition is not important because its a female non revenue sport. Some of the first round match ups were laughable when it comes to competitive equity. Imagine if a 39 seed in the NCAA mens basketball tourney hosting the 63 seed first round. Wouldnt a 39 seed be playing away against 26 seed. LOL. I know they dont do it like that, but thats the problem.
Even with stuff like the Pac-12 network, it's a network that is available only on few services, then you have to pay a premium sometimes to add it to your subscription. I have Directv so it's not even an option, I have to spend extra money subscribing to a package service like fubotv or sling tv to see games and that's when I'm not playing the throwaway email account 7 day free trial loophole. I don't understand why the tournament can't t be widely available on one network like the ESPNU channel that focuses mainly on college sports. I pretty much give up on other regional games unless by miracle, there's a free live stream.
If you have Directv, which I do, you can see the games. The NCAA apparently has ownership of the game streaming and thus networks like Pac-12 can't require you to pay to see a tournament game even though it's broadcast over the Pac-12 network. Here's how I do it: Go to the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Bracket page. At the top of the page, in the sequential game schedule, click on the game you want to see. Assuming it's game time, this will take you to a page for that game. Scroll down on the page and you'll see a horizontal list of links you can click on (the first of which is Box Score), one of which will be Links. Click on Links and you'll go to a page that will have a link for Live Video. Click on Live Video and it will take you to the live-stream. The live-stream page may fuss around for a few seconds, but you should get the game. To illustrate, since you're a UCLA fan, here are the sequential steps for the UCLA v Lamar game. Since that game doesn't show on the schedule banner across the top of the braket page (linked above), scroll down on that page to the UCLA v Lamar game and click on it which will take you to the UCLA v Lamar page. On that page, scroll down and click on Links, which will take you to a page where you click on Live Video. At appears that you cannot, at least at this point, go back to see the game if it's already been played, but if it's underway you can see it live. I did this for a bunch of games of teams from conferences with otherwise subscription networks, including the Arizona game which was a Pac-12 network game.
Bunch of good 3rd round matches today. In the first match of the third round yesterday, BYU defeated NC State 3-0. I was looking for video links, and decided to spare y'all some time by posting them in order of start time: #1 North Carolina (21-1-1) vs Michigan (17-5-1) Date and Time: November 24, 2019 - 11:00 AM MST Video: https://www.espn.com/watch?id=11b9e877-2ec9-44b6-8516-abd0023d6b98#13; Stats: https://www.ncaa.com/game/3908914 # 1 Florida St. (17-5-0) vs South Fla. Conferences and # of teams remaining in the sweet 16 matches: Pac12 = 4 Big10 = 3 ACC = 2.....[3 less NC St.] Big12 = 2 WCC = 2 SEC = 1 AAC = 1
This is a great resource. Still a joke that everyone does not have access to all the games. I have Comcast so I cannot watch ACC Network games. Not even an option to pay per game. Have to follow stat feed. Will be able to see all others though. Just surprised ESPNU has not broadcast any games so far in the tourney. Lets see if they broadcast any NCAA Volleyball tourney games. LOL.
Apparently Directv has ACC Network games but I don't have access to my television and I was hoping to just log onto the ESPN app and do it that way. NOPE. So yes, I'm stuck reviewing the stats until the UCLA match. Thankfully, the UCLA stream in case anyone doesn't know is free and you don't have to have access to the Pac-12 Network to watch it.
This stinks, I'm getting the following error when I click on the Stanford-PSU match: No current livestream The Stanford livestream is scheduled to start in the next 45 minutes. The match is underway, why me???!!!
Same here. I've seen this before. The Stanford crew that does women's soccer appears not very competent.
Yep, Stanford absolutely bossed the first half, but I think that was due mostly to a poor tactical choice by the coaching staff. The second half was much better, but that second goal by Stanford, off the deflection, hurt. The Cardinal definitely deserved this win and look like the best team in the country. I can't wait to see Macario playing for Vlatko on the USWNT. I really hope they can fast track her immigration status.
Luckily, I'm signed up for a 1 week free trial with FuboTV and could watch it there on one of their many available PAC channels. Fair warning, they didn't label the teams playing today (they had 3 NCAA woso matches listed), so I guessed based off the start times.
All the Big 10, Big 12, and lone AAC teams lost today. WSU has to be the surprise team of the tournament, thus far. The PAC is clearly the top dog conference. Conferences and # of teams remaining in the Elite 8 matches: Pac12 = 4 ACC = 2 SEC = 1 WCC = 1
As @cpthomas said in the UNC thread, this is a fantastic slate of games coming up. UNC-USC will press the tar out of one another. UCLA-Florida State is totally unpredictable, and will be a fun game to watch. Wazzu is peaking at the right time, and will give the other USC a real battle. Stanford is a bit better than BYU, but BYU has looked terrible whenever they try to pack it in. They'll come out swinging, and there will be lots of scoring chances. And yet, three of the games are being played at the same time. What gives!?
FYI...if you go to the ncca.com website and use the drop down to womens soccer it will give you Free links to all games
Yeah, so I guess I'm the only active poster from Los Angeles? I keep hearing this but it doesn't work in Los Angeles..... are we omitted or something? I tried the Stanford game and it was like NOPE. And then I tried FSU game and it was like NOPE.
I have Comcast and I couldnt watch any of the hosted ACC games, but could get ESPN Watch games. Such a joke that we will be down to the elite 8 and still have to scramble to figure out how to watch these games. No reason at least 2 games should be on ESPNU this Friday. Lets go NCAA...get it together. Soccer is light years away from volleyball, softball and womens basketball when it comes to exposure.
I agree. Trying finding any NWSL games easily. It's the most popular sport in the world except when it comes to coverage and broadcasting.
In my experience, the Stanford games are hopeless. I'm pretty sure this is a result of a lack of competence on the part of those at Stanford responsible for the game streaming, which is sort of stunning. For Florida State, I suggest going to the schedule webpage for their or UCLA's team and, after scrolling down to the game, click on the "Watch" link. That's worked for me, when I couldn't get there from the NCAA.com system. It's also worked for me for other Tournament games where I couldn't get there from NCAA.com. The only time it hasn't worked is for games played at Stanford. I'm on Directv, but I think it will work for just about anyone.
Links to the 4th round matches. First one starts in half an hour. I believe the ESPN links (ACC Network and SEC Network) are FREE!! 2 UCLA (17-4-1) at 1 Florida St. (18-5-0) November 29, 2019 - 12:00 PM MST https://www.ncaa.com/game/3908896 https://www.espn.com/watch?id=cff82eb5-5054-4b98-a34f-19beea35316d 2 Southern California (17-4-1) at 1 North Carolina (22-1-1) November 29, 2019 - 4:00 PM MST https://www.ncaa.com/game/3908904 https://www.espn.com/watch?id=551ece99-f8f5-4f4f-81cf-a0694c1ec7cb 2 BYU (21-0-1) at 1 Stanford (21-1-0) November 29, 2019 - 4:00 PM MST https://www.ncaa.com/game/3908920 https://pac-12.com/live/stanford-university Washington St. (15-6-1) at 2 South Carolina (19-1-3) November 29, 2019 - 4:00 PM MST https://www.ncaa.com/game/3908888 https://www.espn.com/watch/schedule/
Again...what a joke. Cant watch Florida State game or NC hosted games because they are on ACC Network. Comcast customer here. Hey lets try and grow the sport, but at the same time make it nearly impossible to watch tournament games. Stat feeds are fun to watch combined with goal highlights on twitter.
It was exciting... it was riveting... especially when the stat said shot on goal. Seriously though, I know they think only 10 people watch women’s soccer so why not a live feed? Heck I’ll settle with Joe College Kid from the film department to do a free stream and I’ll even pay him 10 bucks!
