Instead of dropping this into the middle of some thread that's already been pointed out as being too off-topic, I figured I'd start a new thread which will still go off-topic (not that that's necessarily always a bad thing) But this tweet about tomorrow's draft cracked me TF up. Breaking:Ernst Tanner took a look at the prospects in college soccer, decided they aren't all that good, and traded all of the Union's draft picks to FC Cincinnati for $150K in GAM plus $50K more in player-based incentives.— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) January 10, 2019 Please post links to mock drafts, draft guesses, draft opinions, or whatever people want to call them - I'm assuming we can come back and make fun of them all later in the year when we're in the middle of a long losing streak and bored..... or running away with the league title and bored .....

Fan Side Daily says DCU will pick Sergio Rivas -- another midfielder. Olsen is planning on deploying the novel 0-10-0 formation this season. Either a genius move or something that will look like U-5 rec soccer. Olsen - "Lucho, don't just run after the ball, find some space for a teammate's pass." Lucho -- "Coach, look at that neat bug next to the dandelion."
It's hard to be an expert on every team. Nothing proves that like commentary leading up to the Superdraft.

My All-Name MLS Draft team: Tucker Bone Chase Gasper Jakov Basic (if name listed last, first he moves to #1) Prosper Figbe Rece Buckmaster Honorable mention: Kyle Coffee
I think FCC needs to take Tucker Bone. They already have Corben Bone. They could be called the boners. (Yes, I'm a child)

I like this pick.. Not as much as I would have liked it if we'd have traded $50K of GAM with literally any team at any time to ALSO pick up JJ Williams as a GA forward.
posting this here as well as the preseason thread because of the mention of draft picks (not sure if any are for 2019 or years from now) Houston will keep about half of his salary on their books. Seitz will compete with Earl Edwards Jr for the No. 2 spot behind Bill Hamid.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) January 11, 2019
I like the trade for Seitz. He and Edwards will put pressure on each other to perform. Also think he's a useful backup for Hamid.
So they swapped the pick for a "player to be named later". Houston have too many RBs and we have too few, which means to me that we want one. Which RB from them do we want? Who is starter ready and maybe not getting enough PT?
https://www.dcunited.com/post/2019/...rd-14th-overall-selection-2019-mls-superdraft at 23, he should be close to reaching his potential - maybe a season in Loudoun, but he will need to step up soon - unfortunately at 5'7", his use will be only as an outside back
This got me to wondering ... there is a separate USL draft of the players not chosen, how does that work with an MLS team that also has a USL team ...... does the MLS team draft them just to own their rights so they can later transfer/sell/whatever them down to their USL side ..... are there rules? (are they enforced?)
