This a really good time for some good form and a winning streak. I don't think we've ever been "that" team. The one that was so-so most of the year but at just the right time has that look about them. Portland and Seattle have perfected it.

It seems like it always happens that no team steps up and wins multiple games to get in but more that the teams that desperately need to win all play like keystone cops and stumble in. Occasionally a Portland will win out and do well in the playoffs but it's this clown show. I'd say we don't have a chance but the other teams are doing the same as us and they don't have the excuse of extreme youth.
So MLS salaries were released today: http://mlsplayers.org/resources/salary-guide Here's an interesting exercise. Sort by team, and you'll notice FC Dallas is the only club without a single player earning more than $1 million guaranteed. Almost every other roster has multiple guys earning seven figures. I'd say we've definitely been punching above our weight this season. But we're not going to win anything without upping the payroll.
I'll counter that because we have so many young players they haven't gotten their fair salary yet. Pomykal might get 1 mil plus if he re-signs. There's also an argument to be made going back years that MLS has the most lopsided rosters in the world and it can't help the locker room. I wonder how many times the team with the greatest disparity has won the Cup?
