Man Utd 'scouts watch Wayne Rooney's DC United teammate' after PSG cool interest https://t.co/rPki5hlQyt pic.twitter.com/pX6U7LkVtq— Mirror Football (@MirrorFootball) April 8, 2019 Thx, Jay!
There weren’t just @dcunited fans in attendance Saturday to watch @LuchoAcosta94: so was a scout for @ManUtd. Our @MLSist has the details in @TheAthleticDC: https://t.co/gVodG4X8Oc— David Aldridge (@davidaldridgedc) April 7, 2019 I've got some breaking #DCU news for you on a Sunday evening: English giants Manchester United were in town last night to scout Luciano Acosta. On @TheAthleticSCCR, I've got details along with Lucho's thoughts on recent transfer speculation: #MUFC #MLS https://t.co/wZYTi9QLnR— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) April 7, 2019
Maybe that's why he was so pissed to be pulled. He also didn't play well. Not horrible, but not great. Same as all season.
Goff reporting that Pines, Ward and Yow are traveling to Denver. Given the depth issues, I figure Pines and Ward are in the 18, but not Yow unless Rooney can't go at game time.
If Rooney can't go, use Amerikwa - please. He showed well in his first two appearances, and was clearly better than Segura Tuesday night.
Bayer Leverkusen tried to nab #DCU midfielder Chris Durkin on loan this past winter. United turned their loan offer down. On @TheAthleticSCCR, I dig into the issue DC now faces - they gotta play the kid, and sooner than later: https://t.co/68JA2rXTZm— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) April 12, 2019
I’m trying to imagine Leverkusen scouts sitting on the bench staring intently at Durkin also sitting on the bench
I guess we all missed this during the week, but Marcelo Balboa was going on and on about it, so it must be true... Antonio Valencia drops major hint over next club amid Arsenal transfer interest https://t.co/gHTvwgvX14 pic.twitter.com/C8lhtq7WIp— Mirror Football (@MirrorFootball) April 10, 2019 Thx, Jay!
Durkin, making the most of his opportunity, crosses his legs, looks at the scouts and raises his right eyebrow. The scouts look at each other, nodding sagely, and begin scribbling notes.
Ryan Keefer over at B&RU said there was nothing to it, so he must be right, since he’s a pontificating know it all. I’m so glad Pablo Mauer is going to be writing full time for the Athletic, so there will be even less reason to frequent B&RU. All that said, we’d have to get him on a free at a TAM salary for me to think it was a decent deal. And we know only LAG gets those kinds of breaks. Still trying to figure out how they’re getting a $1M/yr defender with no fee from Bologna. Can’t imagine a guy like that is taking a pay cut at this point if his career to live someplace significantly more expensive while the team he plays for gives him up for no fee in the middle of the season. He’s played a third of the matches in this years Serie A, it’s not like he was buried on their bench. And it’s not like a million bucks is that high of a Serie A salary, even for a team like Bologna, who are in a relegation scrap, 2 pts off the drop.
Please lets hope the. Valencia rumors are not true. Hes 33, injury prone and one dimensional. We have two players who play both his positions.
Valencia move seems like a step backwards and doesn't make sense for a couple different reasons. I'd be surprised if there was a lot of truth there.
The Mirror is a rag, UK's version of the National Enquirer. I take all their rumors with 2 tons of salt.
Only thing that makes sense is he is a Ben Olsen player. Hard worker, disciplined but not very creative, not very skilled.
I do think hard working and disciplined are on Olsen's must have list. The rest is catch as catch can. As for Valencia's skill level, your standards may be too high.
Well, their website is certainly one that acts like it is trying to upload massive amounts of malware while you try to read the article.
Team is now offering a May multipass for $99. It's supposed to be for three league games, the exhibition vs. Real Betis, and two Loudoun United games - six Audi Field events during the month. It seems that if you buy it, you get a notification four hours before each game with your seat location and mobile ticket for that game.
just got US v Jamaica heads up from my rep. I will bet we get just the usual USMNT customer public pre-sale access - nothing more. Just announced! See the United States Men's National Team at Audi Field for the first time! As a season ticket member, you have the chance to secure your tickets before they go on sale to the public. Be here to watch them take on Jamaica on Wednesday, June 5 at 7 PM ET in a tune up for this summer's Gold Cup. Your D.C. United pre-sale window to purchase tickets will open Wednesday, May 1! We will follow up with pre-sale information next week, so you don't miss out on this exciting friendly. *D.C. United does not control ticket inventory or pricing for the match and cannot guarantee any specific seat locations.
If you think DCU gouges fans with ticket prices... wait until we see the USMNT ticket prices for this match!
I was likely erring on not going unless really good seats could be found for reasonable prices. But: A) USMNT games are stupid expensive lately (there's a reason no one showed up for that New Zealand friendly at RFK, for instance). B) The Nats play that afternoon, so the area around the stadiums may be a zoo if trying to drive in. C) The Yellow/Blue Metrorail shutdown will be in effect then, so there's no easy way for me to use transit to get to the game. It's a perfect storm for staying home and watching on TV.
If I weren't going to be busy moving a few days after those games, I would certainly consider it. But I am guessing the USMNT tickets will be way too expensive for what that game will be.
