https://www.lagalaxy.com/post/2019/04/11/la-galaxy-sign-defender-giancarlo-gonzalez We know it would take the Union 4 weeks to get a guy into their roster, and playing. I wonder how quick LA can do it?

That went worse than I thought it would. Oh well. I assumed they would lose a close one late. There is no penalty for sucking more than that.
starting to worry that we just can't hang with elite talent... our wins came against a depleted Crew team, an expansion side, and a very young Dallas team. They are better this year, but it probably still isn't enough... still early, I might be wrong, but ehhhhh not encouraged.
Has anyone analyzed the record of East coast teams playing on the west coast? My memory is that there is a significant inbalance. If so, I would chalk this loss up to that and move on.
Not that I think it will ever get called on a big name like Zlatan but you could argue he's pushing off of Trusty on both his goals. If Trusty throws out his arms and falls to the ground like most seasoned centerbacks then the call goes the other way both times. Somewhat telling that even in the MLS post match summary the question of Zlatan fouling on the PK call is brought up. The video recap only shows the play once despite the VAR. Still suspect LA would have won but might have made the game more interesting. Suspect there will once again be a Union play covered on Instant Replay
I actually did notice in both goals Zlatan was clearly holding/pushing up on Trusty. I took screenshots from the highlights and you can see both of his hands on Trusty's shoulders which, when you're the 6'5 and 209 pound Zlatan kind of gives you a huge advantage. Watching it live I was wondering how it wasn't a foul on Zlatan since he is impeding Trusty from jumping for the ball both times. First goal Second goal/Penalty
Nothing much more to be said about this one. It was a return to the Union's typical West Coast play. We looked just out of sorts enough to never be in the match...again typical for the Union that far away from home. We already made up for the TFC loss at home by picking up the win in Cincinnati, so losing this one isn't that big of a deal as we're only about 2 points behind normal MLS tracking (we need to convert those road losses to draws, at minimum).
Seems like the wheels fall off for the Union whenever they play a team with a clear talent gap away from home. This is nothing new, it's what I'm accustomed to seeing since 2010. It's not that I expected to see the Union win in LA, but it'd be nice to see a game in which not everything that could go wrong actually goes wrong. But, I know this will only continue to be the case until this organization starts finding a way to close the competitive gap between them and the "elite" of MLS. #ThatsSoUnion
