Darren Eales made good on a 92.9 The Game promise to post a picture of him sleeping with the Open Cup trophy by posting a picture of him in bed with the Cup. https://www.instagram.com/p/B1si-4EJlzR/
Talk about a game of two halves, but the boys were able to grind out a win. 3 trophies in less than a year...not used to that in Atlanta. And Champagne Supernova was one epic troll.
Minnesota's big thing is "Wonderwall." Their supporters' section is a relatively steep set of terraces that they call the Wonderwall, and they play the song at games. Anyway, here's "Champagne Supernova." "In a champagne supernover in the sky..."
I confess, me not being the most keen listener of Oasis I thought maybe our US Soccer overlords had inadvertently queued up Wonderwall as a tribute to MNUFC! Once I learned that was different tune it made sense.
With all these trophies it is staring to get kinky... who do you love the most? "Where were you when we were getting high?"] They played an Oasis hit, but it wasn't Wonderwall.
I love this guy. I was on the MARTA after a game and was chatting with a fan that looked just like Darren Eales. When I pointed out the similarity he whipped out his phone and popped up a photo with him and Darren.
Iz it too much to say the crowd willed us to victory those last 5 minutes? Not bad for a group they said will never support an MLS franchise. 17 Forever.
I think it certainly helped. We messed up the A-T-L chant but after that pretty much screamed the last 5 mins plus extra time. Which was awesome! I need to go back and watch the match to see how that sounded on TV. But that was definitely a great moment from the crowd.
BTW, got an email response from Doug Roberson confirming the in-stadium announcer was someone from USSF. We will blessedly be subject to Steve Craig's tone for our remaining home games. *whew*
I don't get this. He acted partisan for Atlanta. If you're going to allow the announcer be partisan for the home team, why not just let the regular home team announcer do the job?
My question as well and precisely the reason I panicked that this was a replacement. No real explaination, just glad we'll get Steve back.
Dredging up this thread instead of the 2017 once since, you know, we're the defending champions and all. Chattanooga on Wednesday at The Fraction. Anybody going to this one? I'll be looking for an online radio stream, since I refuse to pay Disney any more money.
