The Finnish player has received his immigration paperwork and flies back to Minnesota on Wednesday evening. TARGET: STRIKER As the summer transfer window gets set to close Aug. 9, Minnesota is interested in adding a striker, a source told the Pioneer Press. One avenue could be free agency, which would allow the Loons to complete a deal after the window closes. They went this route last August, adding Brazilian midfielder Fernando Bob. He had one assist in seven games and his contract option was declined

Ike makes MLS team of the week And if this info is correct......Only ONE goal allowed in 437 minutes. On par to only let in 44 goals.

Congratz Loons. Great game and even greater winning goal by Toye and that pass. I'll be pulling for you bring home the cup and the first feather in your cap. You should have Chacon by the final to boot. Good luck!

Heath is a little, um...bitter. Heath says of "MLS dot com" and the comparisons to ATL: "The flags will be at half mast in that building because Minnesota made the final."#MNUFC #USOC2019 @MLSFemale— Bridget McDowell (@BCMcDowell) August 8, 2019
I want Minnesota United to go to Atlanta and win this final......in memory of the Silverbacks. pic.twitter.com/7nlphT4PS4— Fentanyl Dusted Donut (@David_5mith) August 8, 2019
As I posted last night in the Open Cup thread, this feels like vindication for me, for all the snarky comments and comparisons to Atlanta we've had to put up with... Consider this. If we win this final...we'll have just as many trophies as Atlanta, everyone's darling, the model expansion franchise. Chew on that one, Grant Wahl.
Unfortunately, they will always compare us....and no on will ever think of the financial difference and how that affected everything. Or the only starting until NASL was over. But, it is what it is. Atlanta are pretty damn good, and even being at our best, I think we will be lucky to win. Still, I'm happy to be in a USOC final. Would love if we were playing CCL in February.
Careful what you wish for, CCL duty before the MLS season has even started is rough. You're playing top Mexican team is full season form and the schedule becomes very compressed. We were playing 3 games every 7 days with a lot of travel in between. It makes it impossible for proper training sessions and caused a lot of injuries. Part of the reason for our slow start to begin this season. I am sure Toronto fans will agree. I am not a fan of CCL. Anyway, congratulations on making the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup final. Good luck on August 27th.
*looks at the calendar, sees that the 8/17 match against Orlando will conclude a stretch of 13 matches in 50 days and wonders how much more compressed it can get...*
Trust me, the schedule can get more congested. We have played 32 games this year already. On top of that the league's idiotic schedule had us crisscrossing the continent at one point, playing in Atlanta, then Vancouver, then NYC all in a 7 day span. Crazy!
No love for the Chiefs? The Chiefs actually won Atlanta its first championship back in 1968. Was anyone here even alive in 1968?
It might help a little, but having to play midweek in Vancouver and then have to turn around and play in New York on the weekend will take its toll, even on a loon.
