The list of former Pros that played under Mark is very long, as for full US National teamers, Trotter had a cap and Becky Edwards was called into camp, Casey Short is the only one to get extensive playing time.
I found it on the 97.9 ESPN radio website, in the archives, it is the radio station down in Tally. It is I believe last weeks Front Row Seminoles episode. I found the link, hopefully this works. https://www.hipcast.com/podcast/HJnDTtXG0
Few nice numbers from the article. #1 SOS 11-1-3 against RPI top 25 more than double the top 25 RPI wins of any other team. 14 different starting lineups. NO lineup had more than 6 starts. Yielded 13 goals in 27 matches. Gave up "0" in the College Cup to 2 of the most prolific offenses in the NCAA. 9 of 11 starters returning. (Lost Tillman and Kuikka) among starters. 3 The number of nattys we will have after next season *** The last one is from my own research!
http://seminoles.com/natalia-kuikka-named-honda-award-finalist/ Congrats to Nat. Great honor to be among final 4 being considered for this award. 1 each from Stanford, UNC, Georgetown and FSU. Don't know if that's coincidence or if they choose one from each final 4 team.
First post of the new year. I'm already looking forward to next year. Amazingly enough we only have to replace 2 starters (Kuikka and Tillman). It could be three based on whether or not Lynch is completely healthy and game ready. Late season ACL could take 6 months to a year to rehab. Players we have coming back (non starters) who should command playing time. Emily Madril was a stud right fullback with offensive capabilities. I believe she will start as either FB or in Nat's place. For sake of this post, I'm assuming Lynch is back and ready. Does she start, or did Gloriana do enough to start out CM? Anna Patten Jack of all trades. Not a quick twitch player, but very skilled with a high soccer IQ. I expect another leap forward in her playing this year. Hard to keep her off the field in my opinion. Does she play CB (too slow?) FB? and let either Carle or Madril come to CM (Tillman's place) Clara Robbins Haven't seen much of her because of injuries, but she has flashed excellent potential. Hope she is ready. So in essence we have 4 returners vying for 2 vacated starting roles (Patten, Madril, Gloriana or Lynch and Robbins) Throw in Nesbeth and Nighswonger and our depth should be excellent assuming no injuries. Who is our backup GKer? I've just had a revelation (or indigestion) Carle and Pavlisko returning FBs Berkely and Madril CBs Jaelin CDM Gloriana and Kristina CMs on opposite sides. Deyna and Yujie both at AMFer roles K Mac to start at lone forward spot. Patten will be super sub for multiple positions. Clara will sub in at CMs. Nighswonger and Nesbeth will fight to find playing time up top, trying to supplant KMac. *At least one of the 3 unknown freshmen will end up being a stud giving Mark even more flexibility.
Awful lot of players not on that list yet. Alana Cook Jordan DiBiasi Jahansouz Tegan McGrady Michelle Xiao Haile Mace Julia Ashley Dorian Bailey That is with me just checking out a few teams. Don't know if these players are just not planning to play in the NWSL, or if they are waiting til the last minute to declare. Do you have any idea if Tillman plans to declare?
http://www.nwslsoccer.com/news/arti...-players-eligible-for-2019-nwsl-college-draft Updated list Tillman is on it. Dorosy is not!
Have listen to all white kits podcast on the draft. First and foremost is almost undeniably the coming out of Tierna Davidson. Most of the players mentioned above are discussed
If Tierna comes out, that will be a tough one to replace. Along with the losses of Cook, McGrady, Xiao, DiBiasi, JaHansouz it will test even Stanford's depth. Boissiere, Macario and Smith are a good starting point. I'll be very interested in how the top of PAC 12 shakes out next year. UCLA lost a more modest amount of players. USC lost Prissock and Pruitt. Key losses, but more manageable than what Stanford lost IMO. Next season is shaping up to be another interesting one. Wish FSU had also scheduled Stanford for their west coast swing. Take a look at all the big dogs, since you may see them again.
Wow! A top 25 recruit per TDS. I know, but it’s the best we got. Wonder how much the Natty helped? If SoccerHunter, 007 have seen her, I’d be interested in their take
I watched highlights of her and she looks good. Good pace, decent passing and a decent shot. Not yet phenomenal, but she does have 2 years left before arriving at FSU. Good athlete with emerging soccer skills is how I would characterize what I saw.
Caroline Brockmier now on list. So few from big name schools...... be an interesting draft..... will need to cover all missing WC players TD is expected to go as number one to Chicago Red Stars
Tillman grabs the very last spot in the draft.....she would do better to go overseas...only the minimum $ for 4th round.
Do you know if she's planning on pursuing NWSL or Europe or is she is going to pursue whatever degree she got?
Yesterday at halftime of the mens basketball team the women's soccer team was honored. I noticed in the pics that Patten and Pavlisko were missing, maybe busy? Also it looks like 3 freshmen have enrolled early, two of them are very tall, Nighswonger not so much
Do you know who they were? I'm guessing Nishswonger and 2 of Radecki, LaBerge and Kalayjian. Was hoping Nesbeth made it in. Having Nesbeth and Nighswonger get acclimated to our returners would be valuable. Maybe there's a Lynch or Pavlisko among the lesser known recruits.
I would be shocked if there is any problem with Patten or Pavlisko. I wonder if Emily and Brooke will be ready for spring practice
Jukes. Don’t be cryptic. If you know something, just come out with it. We are a tightknit community of FSU soccer lovers.
