I wonder why Payne did not play on Thursday? Robbins, in her place, was overmatched, however UCLA has one of the best attacks in the country. They went at Carle and Robbins time and time again, wanted nothing to do with Malia and Pav. Speaking of Carle, she has looked a step slower this season, not as crisp. It was nice to see Lynch out there, she is clearly not fully healthy yet, but its progress. I hope today the KM starts over AN, or play Thomas, I have liked what I have seen from her. Yujie is our engine and she was neutralized by UCLA, need her to be more aggressive today.
I'd like to know why BB has not been given a shot! I'm not watching (no access). Score aside, how are we looking?
We have had Id say 85% of possession, Deyna isn't providing much, she seems to be sitting back way too far.
Welp, Deyna just showed up, WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW, goal of the week nominee! 25 yards out, bender into the upper 90! 2-2 61st minute.
Boy did I underestimate the impact of losing Kuikka. 0-2 road trip. We still have great potential, but got to shore up a couple of areas. USC was playing without their AA GKer.
From an incredibly unbiased opinion, I really wanted FSU to win this match,I mean not that I have anything against USC
We played both games with out Payne in the back and Clara was mince meet for the speedy forwards. Where is Payne? But yes Kuikka was a huge loss as we discussed earlier this summer. Newton is not a center forward, I have never seen Mark continually play a player that is ineffective until now.
I made the trek down for this game. FSU had a better than fair possession but it seemed to me that USC had the fitness edge. There was multiple times where FSU looked gassed. Hot humid day and an interesting formation challenge from USC. This game could easily the other way but(from a biased standpoint) the USC side had some extra motivation in this one. Great game to watch all the way around

I do not remember McKeowan being such a terror last season. Her along with about 5 others where all faster than anyone on FSU
McKeown played a mix of outside back and a bit of forward last year. With the graduation of Leah Pruitt she has slid into that spot beautifully. McAlpine so far has done a great job of moving his chess pieces to get the best out of what he has to work with. 4 of the highest 5 rated players from last year were not on the pitch this weekend
Lmao, I remember the first years in the ACC and teams would put double digits goals up against us including UVA, I have never "slept on" them or any other program.
As an aside, Yujie, Malia, and Jaelin were teammates with Spaanstra this past summer for Motor City FC in the WPSL. MCFC was successful and reached the semifinals in the league playoffs. Spaanstra and Malia ended the season with 9 goals each.
