This is/was fantastic news for the CPL and most importantly, for Telfer. It shows that TFC didn't send him to York to bury him and that they haven't forgotten about him.
Most importantly, it proves that CPL level is a good level for a player to play in and be able to perform in MLS and have a impact on the game. Fantastic statement from CPL as a whole. It also raised awareness of York 9 within Toronto as they were mentioned on TSN

After the games of June 15, the only teams still alive for the Spring title are Cavalry, Forge, and HFX. Is that correct? Halifax hosts Cavalry on June 19. It looks like a loss or tie and the Wanderers are also out. Hamilton is at Calgary next Saturday. The Forge need to win that to have any chance and that might not be enough since they only have 1 other Spring game while Cavalry has 4 total games left.
You are correct. I think it's Cavalry's to lose as they have a 2 game advantage over Forge. However, I think Forge will be a powerful team for the Fall season. They will have experienced CONCACAF League by then.
Highlights York 9 vs. Pacific FC Edmonton vs. Cavalry Forge vs Valour *CONCACAF League Qualifiers* Forge qualifies and will represent Canada at the CONCACAF League.
Cavalry remains perfect with their 7th wins over HFX Wanderers. 2-1 Cavalry over Halifax 0-0 tie between York 9 and FC Edmonton
Cavalry won at Halifax on Wednesday so the Wanderers are out and now Calgary just needs 2 points at most in their last 3 games to clinch the Spring title. A draw against Forge on Saturday would be enough since Hamilton would need the win to stay alive.

June 22, 2019 York 9 FC vs HFX Wanderers FC audio of the complete post game press conferences of both teams. http://www.rocketrobinsoccerintoronto.com/reports19/19york115.htm for HFX that's head coach Stephen Hart, and players Tomasz Skublak and Jan Michael Williams for York that's head coach Jimmy Brennan, and players Morey Doner and Daniel Gogarty more pictures and lineups and my comments in a day or two.
Tie game between York9 and HFX Wanderers There's no such thing as perfection. Forge prevents Cavalry from clinching the spring season with a 1-0 win
The Forge win over Cavalry makes things look like this at the top of the CPL: 1. Cavalry 8 g.p. 21 pts +9 g.d. 2. Forge 9 g.p. 19 pts +9 g.d. Remaining games for those two teams (EDT): Wednesday, June 26 York9 v. Cavalry 7:00 pm Edmonton v. Forge 9:00 pm Monday, July 1 Pacific v. Cavalry 6:00 pm Not much hope for Hamilton but if Calgary fails to win in the early game on Wednesday things could get interesting.
Very convincing win by FC Edmonton who defeats Pacific 3-1. *Stadium is being expanded **The poor camera angle is due to the Hydro pole which imposes a height restriction preventing One Soccer from getting a better angle. The pole will be removed by the Hydro company during the off season and be replace by new stands.
Halifax wins 2-0 against Valour Cavalry clinched their Spring season with a 2-0 win over York9. Cavalry qualifies for the Canadian Premier League Championship FC Edmonton wins 1-0 over Forge
Cavalry wins the Spring with a win over York9. And the Forge lost so it wasn't even close. The Canadian Championship becomes the most interesting thing for a while now until the Fall season heats up. Unless Calgary runs away with the Fall too.
June 26, 2019 @CPLsoccer @York9FC vs @CPLCavalryFC Cavalry clinches the Spring season. All that was said at the post game press conferences by both teams... http://www.rocketrobinsoccerintoronto.com/reports19/19york117.htm
Want a reason to be excited about this league? I'll give you 3 from today: 17 year old Tyler Attardo scored his 2nd goal for Valour today Marcus Velado-Tsegaye scored on his 18th birthday today for FC Edmonton 17 year old Ahmed Alghamdi scored for Pacific today Do you know where these kids would end up without the CPL? The same place as just about every other talented Canadian kid before them, out of the game in a few years. Give them a pathway and who knows, a few of them might just surprise everybody and go on to something big.
