Being optimistic about Big West chances for NCAA tournament entries --
if Fullerton and CSUN both win today, and CSUN beats Northridge next week, and all the other conference games fall just the right way, Big West might get 4 in.

I think I look for a chance of this happening every year about this time.

Further thoughts - especially if the final goes to kicks after OT, since that is seen as a draw in the RPI stats.

One week to go...let's see where the bid stealers are.

    AMERICA EAST CONFERENCE
New Hampshire (19) is in the semifinals, and would host the final if it wins on Wednesday. Vermont (48) is currently on the outside of the Tournament Projection, but draw Hartford (75)..which will be really good for the SOS. Still, this is probably a one-bid league unless one of the other three wins it. Danger level: EXTREME

    AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
UCF (3) is hosting the semifinals and championship, and SMU (9) is also a lock for the NCAA tourney. South Florida (30) and Temple (37) are also in the semis, while Memphis (35) lost at home to the Owls and must sweat out the week on the sidelines. My guess is that two of those three are in. Danger level: MODERATE

    ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE
Is Pitt (32) safe? Another match vs. Clemson won't hurt its SOS. The other three remaining teams are top 10 in RPI. This is the conference that could get hurt by bid stealers. In the most danger are NC State and Syracuse. The Orange should be punished for playing Morrisville State. Danger level: LOW

    BIG EAST CONFERENCE
The semifinalists are all top 25. This will be a 4-bid conference. Danger level: LOW

    BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE
Campbell (38) would probably be on the outside looking in if they didn't win the auto bid. But its RPI might still improve if they beat Presbyterian and drew with High Point (51), with HPU advancing on PK's. You might just want the Camels to run the table if you're on the bubble elsewhere. Danger level: HIGH

    BIG TEN CONFERENCE
Like the Big East, the top 4 in RPI are the final 4 in the conference. Danger level: LOW

    BIG WEST CONFERENCE
UC Davis (22) will host UC Santa Barbara (16) in the title match. I think these are your two bids. Cal State Fullerton (39) and UC Irvine (44) will helplessly watch the cut line rise beyond their reach. Danger level: LOW

    COLONIAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
James Madison (42) at UNCW (57). Bubblers will cheer for JMU, but I think they're out if they lose. Danger level: MODERATE

    CONFERENCE USA
The tourney starts with two locks (Marshall and Kentucky), two probables (Charlotte and FIU) and two bid stealers (South Carolina and FAU). As long as those last two are alive, bubblers are nervous. Danger level: HIGH

    MID-AMERICAN
Western Michigan (36) is the highest-rated team and has a bye to the semis. But the semis and championship are hosted by top seed Akron (73). Meh, I don't see WMU making it if they can't run the table here. Danger level: MODERATE

    MISSOURI VALLEY
Undefeated Missouri State (11) is so in. Loyola Chicago (41) much less so. Everyone else is still alive. Danger level: EXTREME

    SUN BELT
Central Arkansas (26) has an RPI worthy of an at-large selection, but their best win was at Memphis. This was a very competitive conference, and it's hosted by 6 seed Appalachian State. A loss by UCA probably drops them out, but they'll be in the conversation to the end. Danger level: HIGH

    WESTERN ATHLETIC
Seattle (40) would probably be out if they don't win it, and Air Force is hosting. Danger level: MODERATE

And thus was written one of the oddest sentences in the history of sport!

Great post, though. Excellent summary of where the cut-line changes could occur.

Nervous times for Syracuse (SOS of 1, though) and NC State.

Syracuse had a game cancelled by storm. Hard to get a replacement game so might as well give the reserves a run.

Lots of games have been cancelled. Few have been replaced. It's a bad look, even if it doesn't really affect the rankings at all.

WSU go to the semi final! 1-0 against Green Bay
19 Shots 10 SOG. GB only 3 shots and 1 SOG.
    And they win only 1-0...…
During the regular season, same types of stats: however they lost often as the other ones were able to sneak on or two goals. The destiny seems to be on their side now….

Harvard-Boston College got "postponed" a couple of weeks ago.

Not made up even though BC hasn't played since last Tuesday (and won't till the NCAA Tournament starts, assuming they make it) and neither team has a conflict this week and there is practically no travel concerns. I mean, one team could literally take the T if they couldn't get a bus or a couple of vans.

It's a bad luck for the sport to lose games, especially when they already play so few of them.

Maybe BC doesn't want to take the hit on their RPI?

Didn't realize they were moving Horizon League games up because of weather. This was the scene in Detroit earlier today:

Hartford at Vermont could be interesting. Predicted high tomorrow for Burlington is 23°, and the game will start about dusk. 7 inches of snow fell this week. Hopefully the field and parking lots will be cleared by then.
