It should not have been his first cap but so be it, especially with Besler in front of him. It was clear that Tim was not playing well.

Surprised to see Lleget in starting line up for Galaxy tonight. If healthy enough for that surprised not in the squad for gold cup.

Arena in 02. No one questioned his tactics. But since then I think we've seen a lot of tactics questioning everywhere. Lots of people questioned Reyna starting in 06. Plenty of people hated the empty bucket --- though I think time has probably vindicated that. Jesus where to even begin with Klinsman's tactics and obviously EGG has his critics.

He's not going to start until Panama or maybe even the knockout stage.

its odd that llegett was too injured to stay with the team...but altidore was ok to stay and llegett has returned first....

They need Zardes to go stand in front of goal so maybe someone can hit him in the head and luck the US into another goal.

In a lot of ways it is better to be lucky than good. Of course best would be both lucky and good but we have little chance of that.

Well Jozy played already the week before the cup. Not sure I'd classify Jozy so much "injured" as "fragile"

its injuried and if he can't play for either reason...it doesn't matter

if he isn't available the's taking a spot.

    good call lol

we know he'll start at some point and it clearly has to be by the knockout stage and its would be a shock for zardes to start all three group matches you literally are just playing the very heavy obvious odds.

Ohhhhhhhh, so that's what's going on. I was wondering why every thread was running so long and felt like one half of a frustrating argument. ;)

I put the guy on Ignore weeks ago. :speechless: I would advise the same to everyone else.

Well, you can count on Zardes to put himself in good positions. What happens from there is anyone's guess.

I suspect they are kind of "saving" him. I'm sure he is able to play and would expect he gets minutes in this match unless just a blow out. Doesn't hurt having a Zardes doing the unglamorous "heavy" lifting early in a tournament, I suppose.

One way to prevent injury is to keep him on the bench. Unless he trips over a water bottle and pulls his fragile hammy again he should remain healthy enough to sit on the bench for the rest of the tournament.

He's going to have to put some effort in. Curacao and Bermuda strikers have surpassed him for the Golden Cinder Block award for most atrocious first touches.

The timing was just off. He couldn't train with the National Team at the beginning, so wasn't selected. But now he can. Too bad.

The mistake created one goal for T&T and we lost by one goal, right? Haha yeah, I understand. What a ridiculous and convenient way to look at things. What about the other goal? It was the second T&T goal, so technically it was that one that caused the loss. Right? No. This was a must win game and we played a wide open game with little defensive pressure in the midfield. That's the big picture We were asleep in the first half and had to play catch up in the second half..

Well, win by any score tonight, and we only need a draw on Wednesday to win the group.

SO the commentators are saying that US Soccer is being less than candid, and J Altidore must be injured.

If Jozy doesn't see the field tonight then something is not right. He needs minutes with this lineup before we have a knockout match.
