Sour green grapes or sour red grapes, or maroon colored- Annabi grapes :p

Anyhoo... just got back from Aspire Park to watch the match... was absolutely mental. I had mixed feelings as I was supposed to attend the game, but couldn't get away for the weekend, so was pretty pissed about that, but maybe it was better to watch here in Qatar anyway. Can't believe it, Champions of Asia!

So I guess that means Qatar qualifies for the Confederations Cup now :D ... if it happens

Congrats Qatar, me, I'm lucky to be back home and staying off the roads for the next couple of weeks..... keeping my fingers crossed we get a day off work....

i truly believe if Iran got qatar in the semis we would have beat them and then beat japan in the final.

knowing CQ, he would have defended against qatar. we would not have allowed them the space japan did. i mean sure we could have lost on penalties, but i just dont think qatar would have beaten us without penalties.

and then if we were already in the final i dont think the same incidents against japan would have happened. our players were nervous and obsessed about reaching the final. had we already been in it, it would have been different. of course it is no guarantee, but i am just saying things would have probably shaped up differently had Iran and qatar played in the semifinal instead. but that is the nature of knockout tournaments, you never know who youre gonna get and at which stage.

Iraq won the Asian cup recently. Its only Iran who can't win it. So speak for yourself

Iran only won the Asian cup when there was about four or five teams in it. They've never been untouchable Kings of Asia and never will be.

They're just bottlejobs. Iranian football suffers from three things. Firstly they suffer from a bottle job mentality. Secondly they suffer from creating a victim mentality every time they lose by blaming external factors and refs and not looking at their own team. They've even managed somehow to do this after Japan tonked them 3-0.

And thirdly they suffer from severe overhyping of frankly average players, probably because they parked a bus at the world cup vs Portugal last year. While Japan were taking the game to Belgium and scoring great goals and playing real football. I've never seen any kind of quality from any Iranian players in the current team. To say Iran would be King's if operating on raw talent alone is ludicrous.

Iran will continue to fail until they address these factors. But they never will address them. So no excuses from Iran

Why does the conversation always come back to Iran. You've literally done nothing in Asia for 43 years. No need to speak of this irrelevant team.

I'd be pissed off too if Qatar in the group stage in 2022 got spanked all 3 games 4-0, 5-0, 3-1 or something. It's not in Asia's best interests to have ANY team get beaten badly. Risks losing spots.

A bit nervous for 2022 for this reason because Asia will likely have quite a lot of teams if it expands to 48 total. I think you could expand the number of African teams and CONMEBOL teams without a great loss in quality, I think if you start having Asian teams 6/7/8/9 all playing against big teams from CONMEBOL/UEFA they'd get destroyed and AFC does not need that just for the sake of saying "oh we have more teams"

You say that yet asian teams outperformed African teams at world cup 2018.

You don't seem to understand what I said.

What I'm saying in essence is that I think the best 3-4 teams in Asia showed they can play a good game of football against a world powerhouse team. I don't think Asian team no.6/7/8 can do the same and honestly I worry they'd get utterly destroyed over 90min.

I'm not talking about Korea or Japan vs. UAE or whomever. I'm talking about UAE vs. Brazil, Uzbekistan vs. France etc.

Whereas take the 6th, 7th best CONMEBOL teams and they'll still show a decent game in the FWC. I don't think there's a huge gulf in quality to compete on the world stage between the best 3 African teams and teams 6-7-8.

What did Iran do exactly to be a class above all the Asian teams? Why are you putting yourself with the finalists Mr delusion?

You beat Vietnam, Yemen, Oman and China. All poor teams anyone can beat

When you came up against Iraq you drew 0-0. No goals scored. Not even any chances. And when you came up against Japan you got smacked 3-0. No goals scored again.

You did absolutely nothing against the two decent teams you faced. Iran were and are trash. Stop hyping yourself and putting yourself with Japan and Qatar to feel like one of the big boys. It's embarrassing

I bet the FWC will expand to 48 teams. Because if you double Asia's presence or even add 3 more teams. You will get almost certainly 4 gulf teams maybe 5 in the FIFA World Cup.

How the Asian teams will be seeded for the upcoming WCQs. The draw will be held in July. As of now, Qatar is also supposed be taking part in WCQs because they also serve as ACQs.

The 8 Seeded teams will be:
    Iran
    Japan
    Korea
    Australia
    Qatar
    UAE
    Saudi Arabia
    China

the naturalizing of south american players I was against, but this is different. These players have been there since childhood.

Sorry it is really no different than the other nations I mentioned. All of these people are going to their country of representation to escape poverty, war, and search for a better life. They all end up finding that "better life" playing football.

So was France's WC victory , really a victory for Africa.

If you think this is a "mockery" of international football. Well then it didn't start with Qatar.

France is winning world cups with African players. Switzerland was winning youth championships with African and Balkan players.

Spain has a Brazilian mercenary playing for them at the last WC. THis is a former world champion that has the best league in the world and they still need Brazilian mercenaries.

no they weren't special at all, they were very average.

Their only "special" game was against Iran.

All the examples you mention are of players who are eligible to represent those countries as per fifa rules. That isn't the case with this Qatar team. That's what you seem to not understand. Some of these Qatar players are ineligible by the rules. They aren't supposed to be allowed to play for Qatar. Frances African players are allowed to play for France according to fifa rules. Diego Costa is allowed to play for Spain. They haven't broken rules. Qatar have cheated. Teams caught playing ineligible players should be disqualified like real Madrid in the copa del rey a couple of years ago. This is a mockery of international football

no point in arguing with a sock like you, but just to expose your stupidity: iraq didnt do shiz aside from that asian cup. overall, Iran was always one of the top teams in almost every asian cup. iraq just won that 1 tournament. that is how knockout tournaments work. by your logic, qatar and iraq are better than south korea and Iran overall in the past 40 years because they won an asian cup while Iran and south korea, who are always top teams in the asian cup and also qualified to the world cup numerous times, are not. so no longer necessary to respond to your absolute stupidity.

those players are elligible if the necessary paper work was done. I have no reason to think it wasn't unless I see some proof.

Al Moez is far more Qatari to me than Diego Costa is Spanish.

Korea actually made world cup semi finals in 2002. They beat Germany in the last World Cup. You have done absolutely nothing. You're trash. Hot garbage. Absolute nobodies. Nothing but losers

had qatar lost against japan the same thing could be said about them. you lack an objective balanced analysis of each team. Iran outplayed japan for 55 minutes until the stupid incidents happened. we also dominated every other team. that is why we are top 3. we only needed a draw against iraq, who parked the bus against us. why would we expose getting scored on the counter, and drain our energy, by trying to beat them for no purpose? dont forget qatar and iraq was an even game and qatar barely scraped by.

Honestly the people who think the players were eligible if the paperwork was done don't understand anything about a) the situation and b) the fifa rules.

Just living in denial. We should not accept teams breaking the rules. Period. Why do we have rules in place if they can be broken with no penalties.

korea played well in 2002 but everybody knows they cheated. the referee that they bought was caught with heroin at an airport a few years later.

Iran outperformed south korea in WC2018. we were the best asian team in WC2018 in fact, and also in WC98, and also in WC 2014. seems like almost every time we go to the world cup we are the best asian team. korea "beat" a germany team whos keeper was in the south korean box trying to score while korea had nothing to play for. that is not "winning." also that germany side was only germany in name. it is like a 2-0 match becoming a 3-0 match courtesy of a late counterattack goal against a non existant defense. this is the norm in football, not the exception. if you had any football knowledge you would know it.

you are obsessed with Iran. you are either a persian gulf arab or an iraqi. nothing you post is objective. you are a sock puppet account of another member who is too much of a coward to step up. i have exposed your bias and stupidity. also stop talking about Iran it is not healthy. Iran is out of the competition. continue to cry about qatar, stop bringing up Iran every chance you get it is not healthy. do something with your life.

And Iran guy talking about top 3 youre just embrassing yourself. You got tonked by Japan and conceded amateur goals.

Iran are so boring to watch with no quality. Just long ball and long throw and you think you're a class above? It's hilarious

But Qatar didn't lose to them. They beat them 3-1. So what an irrelevant pointless point that is. Had you beat Japan and Qatar I wouldn't say you're trash. But you did not. Japan mauled you. They embarrassed you. Took your pride and dignity. Who cares if you kept it 0-0 for the first 55 mins when they put three past you in the last 35 mins.

Saying Iraq were close with Qatar only makes Iraq sound better because Qatar have comfortably won this cup. So yet another pointless point.

And how did Iraq park the bus v Iran if they had more possession and more shots on target? You're full of trash just like your bottle job team.
Enjoy spending the next four years waiting for your revenge match with Japan just like you spent the last 4 years waiting to beat Iraq only to fail to even score. Iran been taking those Ls since '76
