We picked a player! Ebenezer Ackon, Defender from Bowling Green (by way of Ghana). He is, hopefully, better than LAG's two picks directly ahead of the Fire. With each selection, they picked PASS. Since the two picks have exactly the same name and were selected by LAG in consecutive picks, could they be the first conjoined twins selected by an MLS team? LAG actually picked Mr. Pass three times [he is very versatile] in the third round of the 2019 MLS draft. There were 8 Pass picks in the third round. Since we obtained a third round pick for the rights to Jonathan Campbell, does that mean that Jonathan Campbell [or his rights] is, officially, worth nothing? We picked a second player! Grant Stoneman, Defender from Loyola. We picked a third player! Mark Forrest, Forward from Lehigh U. And, as usual, Nelson Rodriguez decided to let his sphincter do the taking: “Today’s selections were made with the future in mind,” said Chicago Fire Soccer Club President and General Manager Nelson Rodriguez. “We believe each of the three players selected today has a chance to make our roster but likely require some grooming in advance.” https://www.chicago-fire.com/post/2...hree-players-final-rounds-2019-mls-superdraft What, exactly, is "grooming in advance"? How can you "groom" in advance? Does he mean they need haircuts prior to joining the professional ranks? Does he mean "grooming in advance" of joining the Fire. Are they getting married? Sounds, like they may be marginally better than Mr. Pass, we just should not count on it. Umm, pretty much this.
So a team currently over the international roster slots , chooses another international player as a long term project. Btw .. who would've guess Ebenezer Ackon was a common name. There are dozens of them on Facebook
The Fire selected defenders Ebenezer Ackon (53rd overall) and Grant Stoneman (55th overall) in the third round, before selecting forward Mark Forrest (77th overall) with the club’s fourth-round selection. Get to know these names. Youll never hear them again. I want to be the first to thank them for their services and wish them the best of luck in future endeavors.
