They must be able to withstand Al-Hilal's offense first imo. Their attackers upfront are lethal and would be hard to defend against.

I agree. Their main front man Gomis currently is leading this season's ACL top goalscorers chart. It surely is gonna be an interesting final.

Urawa Reds should send someone to man-mark him, maybe Makino lol.

They were definitely the strongest team back then, but they didn't deliver in the final.

Right now, they're still the favorite to win it all IMHO, but the gap with this version of Reds seems lighter than two years ago.

And beware: West Asia hasn't win the cup since 2011.

Last but not least: whoever wins, I think they'll have a shot of playing the FIFA CWC final.

River Plate look always the same. And Flamengo is strong, but not stellar.

Urawa's recent results surely are alarming. Are they really saving their energy for the ACL final? Or are they really that bad they only managed to earn a single point in their last 4 league matches?

I hope it's the former but I really have a bad feeling about this. Let's hope they just don't get butchered in the 1st leg.

They are saving energy, rotating and resting many players.

Their results are not so bad based on the circumstances, they drew with Hiroshima, lost 0-1 against Kashima, and 0-2 against Kawasaki (in the latest they almost rested their all team A). All of these 3 opponents are teams fighting either for the J-League title or ACL spots.
A bad results against such teams would see them hammered 3-0 or more.

    I see.
But aren't they risking relegation to J2? They only have 2 matches in their hands.

lmao at this Al-Nassr fan account "supporting" Urawa...reminds me of the Saudi guy who ordered a custom Rafael Silva cake after the last time Reds and Al-Hilal faced off in the final.

Hahaha. Actually, there is a great animosity between fans of both teams as per usual between teams of the same city in any part of the world. But I am just as shocked to learn that there are still people in this day and age who still use racial slurs and mock people's looks just like the person in the vid. No wonder their team and its fans are being despised by many over there.

Urawa Reds - Al Hilal 1st leg ACL final (0x1)

Al Hilal dominated the game in every aspect (as expected) but somehow they managed to only score a single goal!

Urawa still has a chance to bounce back in the 2nd leg. Two more weeks to find out. Good luck.

    1-0 for Al Hilal.
I guess it's over for Urawa. They need to score three goals now.

    Al-Hilal x Urawa (2-0) FT (3-0 Agg.)

    It's over.
Congrats to Al-Hilal, they were the better team in both legs. Urawa looked clueless and had no answers to the Saudis reselient defense. I think this Al-Hilal team has the potential to make upsets in the upcoming CWC tournament.
