    #FIFARanking May 2016 final preview http://www.football-rankings.info/2016/04/fifa-ranking-may-2016-final-preview.html…

    Pot 1 : 82 - Jordan 418 98- Oman 346 100- Kyrgyzstan 342 112- Korea DPR 314 115- Philippines 304 127- Turkemnistan 277
    pot 2 : 130- Bahrain 271 130- Palestine 271 140- Kuwait 244 143- Hong Kong 234 145- Vietnam 228 147- Afghanistan 211
    pot 3 : 148- Singapore 202 158- Lebanon 176 162- Guam 151 167- Myanmar 147

    + 8 teams (playoff) : Maldives 165 points, India 151 points, Tajikistan 150 points

I don't think it's good idea for Singapore and Lebanon to stay in the pot 3 aha. but they have time to improve their fifa rankings...

The third round for Asian Cup looks very interesting.

Some good teams, and also some teams who can pull a surprise

such a shame that we still don't know when the final draw will be held.

Surely the pots are already set as per the Play-off Round
Pot 1 : North Korea, Jordan, Oman, Lebanon (2nd place), Palestine, Hong Kong (best 3rd places)
Pot 2: Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Philippines, SIngapore (other 3rds)
Pot 3: Guam, Myanmar, Bahrain, Afghanistan (4ths) + best 2 playoffs
    Pot 4: Other 6 playoff

They won't draw it until they know the teams. That seems fairly sane.

I think the ranking at the time of the draw (maybe October or December) will be used. This means the teams in the play-offs can improve their ranking and be placed in a higher pot.

usually, fifa use the ranking at the time of the draw. it's really important to know if the draw will be held before or after november because teams can play 2 friendlies in november (fifa days).

A new AFC international competition, to replace the AFC Challenge Cup, has been proposed to take place in November 2016 and September 2020 for the continent’s lowest-ranked teams who have little opportunity to organise international friendly matches.
    .
Nepal, Brunei Darussalam, Macau, Mongolia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, as well as the two teams eliminated after the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 qualifiers play-off, will form the participating teams for the 2016 competition.
    .
The 14-day tournament will be played between the eight teams at a centralised venue, providing not only a minimum of three matches, but also including coaching, refereeing, technical and event management education courses.

So out of 3 teams that going to be eliminated in the playoffs, one will not have the chance to participate. Bold!

Why don't they also consider including NMI in the challenge cup version 2.0?

Poor defense and missed several chances for both sides. They got a red card too.

    Laos 0:1 India

    Maldives 0-1 Yemen HT

Yemen started off with a lot of energy, closing down spaces very well and got in very good attacking positions, but were mostly let down by the final ball. Their players seem to get a bit tired towards the end of the half though, playing on an unfamiliar, rain-sodden pitch. Maldives look pretty toothless up front, but hopefully we'll manage to utilize the pitch advantage.

Taiwan are without their China based players for tonight's return match. Cambodia have sold out all 55,000 tickets to their Olympic Stadium. I am not hopeful Taiwan can win it.

Odd to rush it before the October matches (when the next round doesn't start until March 2017). But, it's not unheard of.

    So, presumably:
POT 1 - PRK, JOR, OMA, LIB, PLE, HKG
POT 2 - KGZ, KUW, VIE, TKM, PHI, SIN
POT 3 - GUM, MYA, BHR, AFG, TJK, MAS*
    POT 4 - IND, YEM, CAM, MDV/LAO, BAN/BHU, TLS/TPE*

    * - it is possible that they "assume" higher ranked teams left in Playoff 2 win (again unusual, but UEFA does something like this when they draw some rounds of the Champions League and Europa League qualifiers in which some teams aren't known) in which case these two swap (POT 3 ends with TLS/TPE and POT 4 would technically be - MAS, MDV/LAO, IND, YEM, BAN/BHU, CAM)
