Looks like it (assuming the format stuff it right). Can't say it's a huge issue for anybody, especially as even if you lose you get another chance. J
The draw for the third round won't be held before October. April Rankings : Pot 1: Jordan / Oman / Kyrgyzstan / Korea DPR / Philippines /Kuwait Pot 2: Turkmenistan / Palestine / Bahrain / Hong Kong / Vietnam / Afghanistan Pot3: Singapore / Lebanon / Guam /Myanmar + 8 teams We can have nice groups
Dani Palomo is a writer at FootballChannelAsia and he shared this photo. And look he said that he got this from AFC. So that means Laos getting that awarded win against Kuwait. Can anybody confirm that this is from AFC?
Draw is Thursday . There is no decision yet about Kuwait's matches. http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries/asia/index.html#275171 http://www.the-afc.com/afcasfeeds?view=all&id=169&type=Stage#ui-tabs-2
No, effectively the decision has been made and Laos has the points as per above discussion http://www.the-afc.com/asian-cup-2019/stage-set-for-uae-2019-qualifiers-play-off-draw J
Could someone add "qualification" somewhere to the title, like 2019 AFC Asian Cup Qualification? I don't like this playoff sh*it at all, all teams shoulde've been included. 8 groups of 4, winners qualify (8), runners-up to playoff (8>4).
Round 1: Chinese Taipei 1.1 Cambodia 2 Jun 7 Jun Maldives 1.2 Yemen 2 Jun 7 Jun Tajikistan 1.3 Bangladesh 2 Jun 7 Jun Malaysia 1.4 Timor-Leste 2 Jun 7 Jun Laos 1.5 India 2 Jun 7 Jun Round 2 : Loser 1.2 - Loser 1.5 6 Sep 11 Oct Loser 1.3 - Bhutan 6 Sep 11 Oct Loser 1.4 - Loser 1.1 6 Sep 11 Oct
Shame that Mongolia and the other 5 teams can't make the Play-Offs round. 4\5 years without meaningful matches kill football in that countries... However the unluckiest country of this draw is Laos: do you agree? For me Bhutan, Laos and Cambodia are out.
Definitely. To finish in pot 1 and yet still have to face Yemen and after losing face India or Laos. I cant see them getting a result vs Yemen or India.
I hope the Tajiks won’t enjoy the freezing cold condition at home in june. We have a very different and young team right at the moment as 11 regulers have been banned from the national team due to disciplinary reasons. The new side did well against UAE in Abu Dhabi, keeping the score 1-1 in the first half and 1-3 till the 84 minutes though losing 1-6 at the end. A couple of harsh and biased decisions during the first half caused the drubbing at the hands of Jordan. Hopefully after having a lucky draw (the loser of the match will face Bhutan in the next round), we will be brave enough to chase down a positive result against Tajikistan.
Indeed. Although I still see chances for Cambodia and Bhutan. And I can tell you that Laos will make the life hell of india and Maldives but will be beaten at the end.
Considering all the prognostications I see on this thread, you guys should just join the WC/AC qualifying prediction thread to see who makes the best predictions.
Hah brilliant. I roomed with some Yemeni guys at uni, so looking forward to this! The last meeting between these two sides was during a WCQ playoff in 2007. Yemen were still allowed to play matches at home and they thrashed us 3-0 up in the mountains of Sana'a. We gave them a scare by winning 2-0 in the return leg, so I hope we manage to get one over them this time. Our domestic season has finally begun, so the players would have managed to gain some much needed match fitness by then.
