Unless Nelson can pull out of his ass someone who can create and also score goals I'm afraid we are in for another long mediocre season.
Was that CJ "pulled out the ass that is Philadelphia" Sapong?!? [I actually like Philadelphia, it is a good, big, old, grimy city. It is probably the city in the US closest to Chicago, but they have better beer, except Yeunglings, that stuff is not great.]

Mods, Can we change the title of this thread to a season of “humility” Essentially the same thing but Pauno thinks it Is of vital importance
They wanted their team run by, John Guppy, the bowsprit of their model franchise, Metrostars. This was their stated reason. I think it was a poison pill. AEG had decided to make Galaxy their favored son. The changes in Chicago were designed to neuter the team as a long term threat before selling it. Either that or they anticipated the anchor the Bridgeview location would turn out to be right after enthusiastically developing it. Frontloading the schedule and short rostering the team means the point deficit af the summer window will render spending moot. No point. Lets marshal resources for the offseason and come back strong in 2020! Get your season tickets now. I recommend ignoring Andy altogether. Lets direct regular and impassioned correspondence with the only person who matters. The world always worships the rising sun while shoving out the setting... Joe Monsueto. The season opener last year I was in the fire pitt and just stood directly against one of the space heaters. It was miserable.
A little too early to tell, but it’s looking like mid 20’s for the opener. I’ll be at home. No way my 4 year can take that cold for 5 hours.
Ives has his preseason power ranking up. I can't stand Ives , I think his knowledge of players and the game is overrated. He also has a consistent axe to grind with Chicago. I mean the front office deserves it , but I honestly think his bias is taking prescedent here. I don't think this is a playoff team... But ... Ranking the Fire 23rd??? https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/go...f4nqkv1cs4g7ntfe48g#kiqyhq9gmi9t103mbsioo3xb4

Good thing Jiggs can beg Step to let him into the suite where he's spinning. The wife & I will bundle up and consume warming liquids.
No way my fat old ass can take that cold for 5 hours. Actually, I have to work until 12:00, so I wouldn't be going if it was in the 60's.
I sit around in mid 20s temperatures every morning waiting 40 minutes for my bus. I think I've learned enough to handle 90.
Anschutz Entertainment used the excuse of Wilt allowing the transfer of Damani Ralph to Rubin Kazan as the reason to fire Wilt. But the real reason seems to have been that Wilt wasn't in line with letting the LA Galaxy be the premier team in MLS as Tim Leiwicki wanted.. Leiwicki was CEO of Anschutz Entertainment but was intimately associated with the Galaxy. He also no doubt held a bit of animus toward Chicago anyhow because of his association with the Cleveland Force in the MISL. The Sting pipped them year after year in the MISL. It must have been embarrassing to him for the Fire to be equal or better than the Galaxy as a franchise. They just didn't stick to the corporate line he wanted. Wilt was a terrific executive. He could think big AND deliver. But he also had a common touch and developed great rapport with the fans so he knew what they were thinking. I recall Peter asking how we felt about possibly getting Hristo Stoichkov for the Fire. He sought feedback about a soccer specific stadium and what it should include. I recall sitting in the stands at North Central College and having Peter tell me about how the proposals for the stadium were progressing especially the extraordinary effort Bridgeview was making to land the Stadium. Clearly that didn't match the culture of Anschutz Entertainment, so he had to go and the fire had to be put in its place.
Look at the seeds he's planted since. Indy 11 seems to be doing well. The Madison team is a darling of the Internetthe list goes on...
