    shoji, tomiyasu, ueda, itakura, nakayama. incredible depth at cb assuming the last two play regular football at their new clubs.

    it would be fantastic if yoshida stays with the jnt for qatar even if he doesn’t play big minutes he would be a great mentor.

    I'd say the first three names are good. Nakayama and Itakura IMHO need to switch to holding midfielder to grow.

    He's the guy who ran back as he was running for his life during the belgian fatal counterattack arriving late on Chadli (subbed in and fresh) shot for a second (despite having 90 minutes on his legs) and blaming himself for not have been able to save his team.
    Probably the best japanese CB now and I hope he will be our defence column with the incoming young cbs from Copa America to Qatar 2022 (he will be 30yo).

    i would like to see the back three of tomiyasu (left), shoji (centre) and ueda (right). yoshida as the emergency centre back or striker.

    Lost 0-1 with a goal from (surprise) Mbappe. Not sure how Shoji played though.
