With the trade window opening tomorrow at 1 pm EST, it's time for the offseason player movement thread. Rumors and such go here; this thread is for confirmed stuff only.
If we are looking at signings that were made between the 2019 roster freeze date and now we have: Alexander Buttner (New England) Damian Rivera (New England) - HG Alvaro Medran (Chicago) Moses Nyeman (DCU) - HG
After two years of living great experiences in @MNUFC I want to inform you that the technician and the club made the decision not to validate the renewal option. I want to thank you for all that was lived, were two years of much learning .My best wishes and thanks for everything pic.twitter.com/X9jjz7iuLb— darwin quintero (@darwinJR3) November 11, 2019
Funny money, a draft pick, and a re-entry draft spot from Miami to FCC for the rights to a player and first slot in the re-entry draft and a lot of other stuff. Read the tweet. Haah FC Cincinnati acquires $50,000 in General Allocation Money, a 2020 third-round draft pick and the 26th pick in Re-Entry Draft (Stage 1) from Inter Miami for rights to midfielder Victor Ulloa and first pick in Re-Entry Draft (Stage 1).— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) November 11, 2019
Well, maybe not. 1193990155855683587 is not a valid tweet id Could be he is being traded and just doesn't understand what is going on (wouldn't be the first time).
San Jose signing young homegrowns like they are going out of style: THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT! ⚫️🔵BREAKING: We have signed 16-year-old defender Casey Walls as a @SutterHealth Homegrown Player! #VamosSJ https://t.co/3EoFHTUPFx— San Jose Earthquakes (@SJEarthquakes) November 5, 2019 THE YOUTH MOVEMENT CONTINUES. BREAKING: #Quakes74 have signed 14-year-old goalkeeper Emi Ochoa as a @SutterHealth Homegrown Player! #VamosSJ https://t.co/88TgnEdQhD— San Jose Earthquakes (@SJEarthquakes) November 11, 2019
Could it also be another situation where a player/agent doesn't believe club only options are enforceable? I notice he said it was a decision by "the technician and the club", could "technician" mean Quintero? If so, perhaps Quintero wants out of his contract with MNU and thinks this is the easiest/best way to get out based on previous results?
Why would Quintero call himself "the technician"? Sounds more like a translation of director técnico which could either refer to the technical director or the head coach.
Why would he reference the team twice? Either way, it doesn’t sound like the team has declined his option yet, so who knows what is going on.
McCarty to Nashville for a moderate amount (small) of funny money & a second round pick. $50k GAM & $50k TAM. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/11/12/official-dax-mccarty-traded-nashville-sc Chicago rebuilding. Would expect the Nagbe to Columbus deal to be announced today as well.

#NYCFC has transferred defender Joe Scally to Borussia Moenchengladbach. Sources tell ESPN the fee is $2M and could rise to $7M with add-ones. He’ll stay with NYCFC for 2020 and then join Gladbach in January of 2021. Here’s a deeper look at the deal. https://t.co/vYfTdwgEWe— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) November 13, 2019 Inter Miami acquires rights to GK Drake Callender from San Jose for $150K GAM. Inter Miami acquire Jay Chapman from Toronto for $100k GAM.
Inter Miami continuing to sign younger players. Welcome, @GrantLillardThe American center back joins #InterMiamiCF from the @ChicagoFire 🗞️ https://t.co/bVaoFLmy0g pic.twitter.com/O0mkcyAgSi— Inter Miami CF (@InterMiamiCF) November 14, 2019 I believe him and, if signed, Callender will count as homegrown players (and Chapman may as well) so that helps them fill in the off-budget roster with players that will likely be better than some 4th round draft pick.
Dave Romney to Nashville is official. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...-add-versatile-defender-dave-romney-la-galaxy
MLS has terminated the contract for Brian Fernandez and the player has been removed from the Timbers roster.https://t.co/vrBU4nqmt8— Portland Timbers (@TimbersFC) November 15, 2019 No explanation in the tweet, or the linked article, but he reportedly failed MLS’s substance abuse program, or the program failed him...
Ben Sweat is the first pick in the Expansion Draft, leaving NYCFC for Miami. Good pick given his ties to Florida, his relative youth, good left foot, and MLS experience. Nashville selects Abu Danladi - their owner certainly represented the excitement of the new franchise more than Miami's guy.
Powell is a bit of an interesting one. I'm waiting for someone to just say this pick is for another team (like FCC did last year with Kamara). Edit: As soon as I say that Nashville basically says that Valentine was picked for a trade.
Round two: Miami with Alvas Powell, "rescued" from FCC. Another defender. "We're spending all the money up top" is how the GM explained the pick. Nashville: Zarek Valentin from the Timbers. Titans (NFL) running back announces the pick. GM announces the plan to trade Valentin.
Lee Nguyen for Miami. {Nashville messes up the pick - nice to havre the AL MVP from the Red Sox announce the pick, but someone messed it up - Jalil Attinela? Anibaba.}
Luis Argudo out of Columbus to Miami. Brandon Vazquez from Atlanta to Nashville. Going to trade it according to the GM.
It's nice of Nashville's GM to acknowledge with the picks who they are going to keep and who they are going to trade.
