2-day Trade Window opens at 11am MT. I think if we are getting Lalas for a "fair" price we will know right away. Otherwise, they are asking for the rumor $1M.
Don't be too sure. Because of the expansion draft there are benefits to the Rapids to not doing the deal until after the draft and forcing Columbus to protect him instead of us doing it.
Sounds like the trip of a lifetime for Cole. Good for him. I wonder if he will impress enough to get a decent transfer offer. Rapids midfielder Cole Bassett to train with Arsenal in North London https://www.denverpost.com/2019/11/11/cole-bassett-arsenal-training/
Surprised it's only for a week. Hope he gets something out of it and improves on the little things he feels he's lacking.
Kei has been called up for Sierra Leone again http://politicosl.com/articles/musa-tombo-axed-sierra-leone-national-team-squad
I have zero idea if this true or not but heard a little rumor from a friend that the Rapids and one of the new expansion sides - Nashville or Inter Miami - are interested in LAFc’s Tyler Miller. Not.sue why they’d get rid of him but he would be upgrade over Irwin. Edit: Just saw @JasonMa covered the rumor on his blog
Love the "old man" quote. Talk about cutting right to the chase. I'm glad he's done. At 35, Kei doesn't need to make those transcontinental flights.
Only good news for the Rapids. Assuming Kei stays for another year, it'll be nice to have him available during international windows. Also avoids injury concerns.
https://www.coloradorapids.com/post/2019/11/08/colorado-rapids-2019-season-numbers Worth a read. Certainly provides a sense of optimism and for me, I actually have a real sense of optimism with this team with some tweaks here and there.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/11/13/report-mls-club-interested-chivas-striker-alan-pulido Could this be a Rapids target? Seems a type we might look at in terms of position. Only 28
Ha! I was just about to post this. We've been supposedly been in the Pulido sweepstakes before. it would make sense.
I for one don't get the continuing Pulido to Rapids, not in a position of real need and I think they are just resurrecting old shit.
NEW RAPIDS PODCAST: Talking with GM Padraig Smith about the state of the #Rapids96 (via @rapids96podcast)LISTEN 🔊 https://t.co/iQHphqieQq— Denver Post Rapids (@rapidsnews) November 14, 2019 Haven't had the chance to listen yet. Hope there is some real info about what types of moves Pádraig & Co. plan to make over the next 4 months or so.
The podcast is well worth a listen in my opinion. Some of the takeaways: Starting to scout in Africa No interest in Strikers at this stage Attacking midfielder will be the main DP we sign Looking to get a young DP also (Didn't mention position) Might be a couple of Academy players signed in Jan
Also Robin and Padraig are heading to Argentina next week (Player signing related), then off to Europe looking at players
Sounds like Abu/Smith/Ford at CB next season with Wilson an emergency 4th. Not sure that's good enough.
With a healthy Ford it could be. However, I am nervous bout Ford's recovery. I don't have a good feeling. For precautionary reasons it may be wise to look at some other CB's on the market.
Ok, fess up, which ones of you guys sent these tweets? The mentions can be a rough place sometimes 😂#Rapids96 | #Elevate pic.twitter.com/mQev2K5xza— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) November 14, 2019
Sam Vines played all 90 minutes, @Jon_lewis710 played 46 minutes. #Rapids96 https://t.co/m6ZUZIuq6C— Emilio E. Gonzalez (@_EmilioGonzalez) November 14, 2019
I was actually able to watch some of it. I saw a good chunk of the first half, and a little bit of the second half Honestly, the entire center of the field was pretty rough anytime the USA got the ball. Brazil was playing an extremely high press and anytime the US had the ball, there would be a guy right on his back. Justen Glad was getting pulled all over the field, and couldn't really hold the fort as he had almost no help from the center mids. Hassani Dotson (one of Shinyashiki's competitors for Rookie of the Year) and Richie Ledezma didn't really do a good job of bossing the midfield, and instead were getting bossed themselves. Brazil's goal came from Glad being pulled away from his man. After the goal, Vines was constantly being pushed upfield - but when he was back, he defended well in the few stretches of play down his flank that I was able to watch. Honestly, he didn't really have many opportunities to make an impact as Brazil was dominating most of the time and was using most of the field in their attacks. In what I saw, Jonathan Lewis didn't really get much to do honestly. We all know he isn't a possession player, but more of a speed/counter threat. This game really suited his strengths well, as Brazil was playing a super tight man to man press. He got in behind several times in the first half, but the long balls to him were always either too long or too short, so his runs were completely wasted.

More Rapids stuff, we ended up Pwer ranked #16 https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/11/13/armchair-analyst-2019-season-recaps-nos-16-through-9 Colorado moved from the pit of despair to become a fast, fun and productive team as soon as Anthony Hudson was dismissed.
