I definitely want to see machado and Lerma play.

Gio is questionable... hebeilton palacios is another good option at the RB

Guarin still available, Jeison Murillo deserves another shot, izquierdo needs to be tried..

As far as the goalie option.. I would really just want Armani to takes Ospina shot.. ospina is really bad. I’m not even referring to these past two matches.

I am going to use this thread as a dream team based on my dreams NOT on what I actually think is going to happen in reality or what I think Pekerman will do.
I am also fantasizing that some of these players miraculously get in shape, are in good form and play many minutes for good teams:

    ----------------------Ospina--------------------------
    Zuniga----Davinson----Mina-------Fabra

    ------------Lerma-----------Perez----------

    ------------JuanFer-----------James
    ---------Marlos---------------------
    --------------------Falcao-----------------------------

Armani isn’t as good as Copa Lib win either. Maybe he just wants to leave but his form dipped a lot.

Ospina isn’t as bad as you guys are making him out he has 2 really bad games in the past 10 years now let’s all hate him. Sanchez hasn’t completed 5 passes in 30 yet irreplaceable while we have 10 CMs that can pass and our #2 goalie is 3rd string on a Colombian league team

I think having Mina back will help Ospina the most. That kid takes charge defensively and in the air and I doubt we would have given up late goals if he were on the field against Paraguay.

He played 3 at the back against Bolivia at home.

I'm not saying it will be better, but it's worth a shot. Also it wouldn't be the end of the world if we stay with 4 at back. Arias and Fabre while underwhelming aren't the worst thing in the world.

That to me is the key. It's how do we shape up on offense. On defense we should have at least 4 behind the ball. But on offense we have to have the defensive winger push up to create depth and width.

Dapip Agree with you bold players.

Plus seems Pekerman really wants guys who can play multiple positions.
I thought he played well and great at hold up play. Kind of alarming he doesn’t score for us but neither does Muriel.

Think a guy with Duvans build will be greatly needed against Euro teams

Still think he should start along Falcao or Borja with Falcao in the next friendly. Again these games were meaningless.

Our MF against China didn’t have James/Cuadrado and he didn’t have Falcao up top.

Against Korea..... 0 idea what Pekermans idea was that game but not like the MF or wingbacks helped the strikers at all those games.

After these 2 games hopefully tesillo, Balanta and Medina will stop getting called

Technically being able to play as a wingback and actually being good at it are two big differences

If it came down to Chara or Izquierdo I think would pick Izzy.

Also I think I personally would rather have Muriel and Borja on the team instead of Teo and Bacca.
But of course it is not up to me and there's still many weeks to see who is in form and who is not in form.

And of course there's other variables like locker room issues, leadership, chemistry, who fits better within the system and other dynamics that only Pekerman really understands and none of us can fathom.

Izzy is a LW... so a sub for James. Can he play CF? If needed?

Chara is a CF, Winger or AmF..... right now Pekerman will prefer multiple position.

I want both to go. Prefer both over Muriel who I don’t see what all the hype is about.

He's a LW but he's not lefty hence in theory he can play either wing. I don't know about you guys but I don't see Izquierdo in the World Cup. Pardo got a call up...think about it....Pardo --hasn't come close to the success Izquierdo has had in the past 3 years. Hope I'm wrong.

Think that has Zapata as a starter instead of Davison and Mina. That would lower our players ages as well.

If Carlos Sanchez and Abel don’t start then the team is super super young. As both those dudes will be 32 by the WC.

We have a very solid base for 2022 as well as everyone in our starting lineup in under 26 other then Falcao, Ospina, Abel and Sanchez. Ospina def has another WC in him at least as a sub. Think Falcao can hopefully make it if he returns to River or something.

I hope they can force a game in January.. I would like to see them play and they need to play together and start getting time together...

    No more Avilés Hurtado

I think guys like Lerma should get another shot and maybe Lerma in his original spot.. That said Idk if he'll be ready.. Since he got hurt..

But got to try out wing backs like Machado and Orejuela..

Cuellar should get another chance. He's been playing well.. So should Chara and Teo.. Teo should go cuz his fiesty attitude is contagious and they'll need that..

But the team needs speed as well.. José Izquierdo has played very well in England and should get a shot.. His speed will be helpful against fast teams.. Or getting behind slow teams.. Pardo should get another shot as well he earned it same for Borja... And why not Muriel again.. Let him start at central forward once...

Muriel is the kind of guy who should definitely go to the world Cup.. Cuz yes definitely need Falcao and Borja has been great especially vs Ecuador in Ecuador..

But Muriel can start alone up top like Borja and Falcao or more outside like he already has done.. That versatility is important in a world cup.. Why Lerma should go too..

But the starters do need set back ups and imo Borja is Falcao back up and should start a friendly.

Specialist are also needed.. A guy that can come in to finish a game off as a defensive midfielder and a speedy guy and backups for Fabra and Arias should be the concern...

Ojalá le den una oportunidad a Orejuela del Ajax y a Devier Machado, y a Gustavo Cuellar como suplente y también a Muriel iniciando un partido amistoso, igual a José Izquierdo..

I'll also add to the list that players that should get another shot along with Pardo, Lerma, Cuellar, Machado and Orejuela and of course José Izquierdo

Mojica and Marlos Moreno have just had a great game for Girona..

Estos, todos merecen otra oportunidad de jugar con la Selección en enero su se puede o definitivamente en Marzo

I think final roster for the world cup roster should be this

    Falcao

    Teo Gutiérrez
    Borja
    Bacca
    Muriel
    Duvan Zapata

    Cuadrado
    James
    Cardona

    Sánchez
    Aguilar

    Barrios
    Lerma

    Mina
    Davison Sánchez

    Zapata
    Oscar Murillo

    Arias
    Fabra

    Diaz

    Ospina

    Vargas
    José Cuadrado

And the preliminary 30 which are obligated by the clubs from fifa should be rounded out by

    José Izquierdo
    Macnelly Torres
    Felipe Pardo
    Daniel Torres
    Yimmi Chara
    Marlos Moreno

The guys fighting for the last six spots.. I say last six because other than these six everyone else if healthy should definitely go and these following six should be competing with the seven above for world cup roster spots

    Duvan Zapata
    Lerma
    Farid Diaz
    Carlos Bacca
    Muriel
    Barrios

And I'd add looking for a back up right wing back and back left full back

Orejuela, Machado, Mojica and Cuellar and even why not Gio Moreno and Sebastián Pérez should get another shot to compete for a place in the preliminary 30

These six and the 7 that aren't in the 23 should definitely be called to the next friendlies and that's why there should be a friendly even if they aren't against big teams or even world cup teams.. To see if the seven on the bubble and the six additional guys can get in the mix to be in the preliminary 30 for the world Cup....

If we have a January game then no Euros. Non Fifa day we might be able to convince Argie/Brazil/Mexican teams to let us borrow players. At that point what is the point? He won't call these guys to the final roster. Only reason for a January game is to give Armani/Cuadrado minutes at goal.

No way in hell Boca, River, Palmeires lets us borrow our players.

So no Borja, Mina, Fabra, Cardona, Barrios and hopefully Perez by that point.

He had all the options in the world last 2 friendlies and he didnt call anyone new for LB preferred CBs. Also Nacional and Santa Fe suck right now. Maybe after Nacional won the CL we could have had a NT game with 80% Nacional players but we didnt do that either. He doesn't rate our league that highly so a game like this would be useless

Hopefully Cuadrado is OK by the World Cup.. But it looks doubtful... He'd probably only get cleared to play by May....

That aside for the next friendlies i hope they let Izquierdo play or even start... Same with Chara..
Definitely want to see Chara and Teo on the WC roster.. And also Muriel and Izquierdo.. It would be great to see Chara Teo Bacca Muriel and Borja make the final roster i think they're all better than Zapata but Zapata wulw probably go becbeca of his height.. In that case idI leave Medina... In any case Medina shouldn't go

I don't think Duvan Zapata should go to the WC..

I thith Falcao ia plenty good in the air.. And Bacca is playing well lately same for Muriel.. And If Borja starts scoscor again they should go too... Teo as long as he's healthy should also def make it
