Some of these rosters I'm seeing don't have Besler on them.

Has Arena said he won't be there because otherwise its completely idiotic that your most reliable defender wouldn't be picked for a must win WCQ?

I wouldn't mind adding to that group: Acosta, Hyndman, and Lichaj.

Arriola is playing well, hopefully he can continue into March. Really need to get rid of Bedoya.

Lichaj didn't get enough call ups. He is at least backup capable at both outside back spots.

I like Arriola. He should be in the mix. Green also.

I like the list of Euros Bruce tweeted out.

Lichaj is a bit like the remembered girlfriend from 10 years ago whose warts disappear in our fuzzy memories. He should be brought in this summer to see how/if he fits, but playing him in March would be a real risk unless we are desperate. We have Yedlin and Chandler on the right and FJ and Villafana on the left, although I am not in favor of starting him in March either based on 1 match against Jamaica C. At least he has been with the squad though.

Frankly, I am looking forward to younger options like Payne coming through instead of looking for "new" 30 year olds to add.

    Benny >> Sacha

Any lineup that suggests otherwise should warrant a 3 day ban from the boards.

The midfield looked sloppy/chaotic with Sacha running it. He's entirely too slow at the international level.

Wood and Morris > Altidore and any other forward.

You are a great poster, but McCarty and I have the same chance of starting ahead of Bradley.

I like this one assuming GC is healthy. Might prefer Chandler to DY, but it's a push.

Chandler is not in the picture for Honduras as he is suspended for that match.

IMO, that lineup wrecks Honduras and Panama.

He should leave chandler in Germany. We don't have to take somebody "because he's playing well in Bundesliga". We don't play his position - period.

Licaj needs some camps before playing in a must win.

    Zusi should be in there.

What's up with Besler, anyway? He has the experience we need at cb and lb and he can pass the ball.

I'd have Marshall in there. I'm ok with Arriola.

for gosh sakes let's not start with Dom Dwyer and Green at this stage. There's a lot of others I would not bring on Shredder's list - Nagbe, Kljestan, Jones, Letget, etc. - but he didn't bring in guys like Roldan, Polster, S.Davis, Delgado to camp so not sure we have anybody better ready to go anyway and who's to know if any of them are any better at this stage.

Edit: Also, American managers/journos should compare Pulisic's games as a mid to his games as a forward. Let's play 3 forwards and use the guy along with Morris and a cf. they can hustle back on defense - Pulisic's defense is better suited to a forward anyway - and we can sub in forwards when they get tired because we have enough of them now. the days of GAM and bruiser Gordon are over.

Yep - a new coach taking a fresh look at the pool should leave at home a talented player who competes weekly against some of the best players in the world - even though he plays at a position where we've (meritoriously) considered converting an aging midfielder from a minor league to play. That's a smart play.

Playing chandler at rb is as stupid as playing zusi there and I think Zusi should be called in to play mid against Honduras because dumb Klinsmann played him in the WC and he got 2 assists while BL wunderkind chandler sat on the bench and didn't get one minute of play. b.t.w., we never considered Zusi for wingback position chandler plays. Where did you get that from?

You're trying to pigeon-hole Chandler into wing-back, yet you want MB to play RCM in a 433, which he "never" does....Chandler is listed as "right back" in pretty much all publications.
