Me and my dad get in around 1:30 and are staying at La Quinta across the street from the holiday inn. Would potentially be interested in splitting an Uber or Lyft.
I just bought 2 tickets in the Phila. supporters section directly through the Dynamo ticket office. I'm not traveling/staying with the SOB's, but I do want to be with other Union fans once in the stadium. The sales rep, Rachel, was very helpful, and she said other Union fans can call her at 713-276-7525. Seats in Section 230. Mine were $25/ticket, no fees (probably a little more than the SOB package, but logistically simpler for me).
Good info, not sure how Houston can be selling tickets directly without a deal in place with the traveling team. I may call as well if nothing is announced in the next few days.
I called Rachel and spoke with her. She was as helpful as described above. You can buy tickets from her at a discount because she will waive all fees.
I bought 2 tickets from her. She was great. Easy to deal with and got the tickets emailed almost immediately.
1035255988260151296 is not a valid tweet id Great call putting it at the piazza, people complaining it isn’t at Talen are out of their minds. I’ve already rallied a handful of friends to go watch with me.
Gather information for their mailing list. If you RSVP, they can send you emails like, "WHY DON'T YOU GO TO OPEN CUP GAMES?!?!" after you have gone to 4 Open Cup games.
I had emailed some questions about the travel plans so I though I would post the answers: The bus is going to be leaving the Holiday Inn Houston - Intercontinental Airport between 3:30 and 4:00 to go to 8th Wonder Brewery for the pregame. We would be walking to the stadium from there (approximately 2 blocks). There are 175 tickets being held for the group but they are waiting for the front office to decide on something before they go live with ticket sales.
I'm not sure what is taking so long with the Union/SOB but I decided to just call the Dynamo for tickets. Like others above, I spoke to Rachel and she has happy to get me tickets.
Rachel told me that Sections 105-107 are reserved for US Soccer. My preference is to sit behind the Union bench in Section 107. I am going to wait until those tickets are distributed before buying. I assume some of the tickets will wind up back with the Dynamo or on Stubhub. Free tickets to the game for all Union STMs. https://www.philadelphiaunion.com/u...-vs-houston-dynamo?AccountID=ZfOZnmfqcx5PMuRR
And it only took them a month to provide this information. If anyone is attending the match that is not a STH, you can have my 4 tickets. Just let me know before the deadline so I can submit the form.
The game is in three weeks. I'm annoyed since I already bought tickets cause you know thats how planning trips to a different place works. Well see if they credit my account or cut me a check. I'll hold my breath.
If anyone is still looking for a hotel, the Aloft Houston Downtown now has availability. It's within walking distance to the stadium. Only 25,000 Marriott points for the night of the game.
As expected they said no to applying a credit to my account for the tickets I bought. The rep told me I should try to resell my tickets on line. How exactly would that work with everyone around us presumably getting free tickets since our tickets are in the away section.... They then told me if I had only reached out, they would have told me to wait on buying tickets. Problem here is that we did reach out and the rep said there was no info and that we would let us know when there was....I assumed that nothing was coming since it was less than a month before the game. I'm not even mad about buying the tickets more that the communication was bad. And who expected them to buy the tickets to be honest. It's a PR move on their part.
Are you a STM? I'm pretty sure that if you complain to your rep, he/she would be willing to give you a credit to your Season Tickets next season or upload Union Dollars to your account. Then get whatever you can on Stubhub and you'll come out ahead. Draft a nice email to your rep and copy Tim McDermott. I'll bet you'll get results.
