Living in Denver, for this game I wrestle between going to a soccer bar to drink alone, or drinking alone at home.
I honestly see no possible way (other than the team Union-ing it in some unforeseeable way) we lose this match. Replica trophies for the first 5000 fans at the 10/6 Minnesota home match!
Not only is this a mid week match, but there is an MLS match scheduled at the same time (NYCFC vs Chicago). Is the MLS at war with US Soccer?
Replica cup for the first 5000 fans. It would be so Union to win their first trophy on the road after losing 2 home finals.
Plane ticket: 15,750 American miles Hotel: 25,000 Marriott points Game Tickets and Pregame Beer: Free (Thanks Union!) Seeing the Union win their first trophy live: Priceless How many of us are going?
THIS IS DANGEROUS THINKING! Wish I could, but already went to a mid-week Union game in Houston this year... can't swing it again. Have fun everyone! Be loud! I'll be watching at the Piazza.
Beyond "lifting the club's first trophy," a major motivation to win the Cup is money. Winning the game would give the Union an additional $200,000 cash beyond the $100,000 the team earned already advancing to the final. It's $300,000 to the winning team and $100,000 to the runner up.
1. Trophy 2. Champions League 3. Money in that order. But yeah, no shortage of reasons to be up for this game.
Is that your opinion? For the team it's: 1. Money from winning the Cup 2. Champions League (and additional GAM that comes with it) 3. Trophy (no monetary value unless they pawn it. . .)
Going through old records, we've played Houston quite a bit in our history... 18 competitive games total (racked up a lot of games when they were in the East), 6-4-8 all-time, with two of the 8 losses coming in that playoff series we played against them. Wednesday will be our 19th competitive meeting, which will actually be more games than we've played competitively against Montreal (also on 18 games).
Haha, no way! A good bar depends on where you'll be and what you're looking for since there won't be any bars that have an atmosphere for the game. Three Lions and British Bulldog are the two main soccer bars in town. I'm guessing you'll be in LoDo for the bachelor party? There's tons of big sports bars in that area so it won't be hard to get the game on. A few Philly sports bars are around town too, but I couldn't imagine there are any Union fans that would be getting together. I only ever see Eagles, Flyers, Sixers, and Phillies gear in those bars. And I'm not trying to impose on the bachelor party, but if you guys are going somewhere to watch, misery loves company.
Yeah dude, no idea where we're staying but Wednesday is really the early arrival day for the weekend bash. Most of the dudes rolling in that day are from Philly, and the bachelor's a Union fan so we're def gonna watch. I'll shoot you a PM.

Watching the Union since I've left the U.S. has been a major pain, but I'll be attempting to tune-in (boozeless, at about 7:00am local time). I am not emotionally prepared for this.
