20 some days until we get to see Najem sink or swim at the 10. I mean it’s him or Ilsinho. Shit that’s depressing. Another year of watching C.J. and now Accam drop back into mid field to try and get the ball.
I have 2 seats available for the first game. I will sell for my cost. Best seats in the stadium IMO. Section 127, Row D. Exactly at midfield. And, as an added bonus, you get to sit next to me! DM me if interested.
DUUUUUUDDDEEEEE stop with the predictions unless it’s “Just wait til Sugarman sells and we get a billionaire who only cares about winning”
In Philadelphia Union's joint training session with Orlando City SC yesterday, midfielder Ilsinho was taken out early due to an injury. The team's medical staff evaluated Ilsinho and concluded the midfielder needed to return to Philadelphia for further evaluation. With Ilsinho now recovering, Head Coach Jim Curtin discussed in his teleconference today that other players such as Anthony Fontana will have the opportunity to step up.
(My speculation: See ya in April, Ilsinho. He's not usually one to quickly recover.)— Matthew De George (@sportsdoctormd) February 15, 2018 De George's obersavtion on the timeline for this. I'll cheer the eff out of Fontana and/or Najem to succeed in the role, but what a colossal cluster not to get a #10 this offseason. Even if you get one now, it's 2 weeks out from the season's start. How long does it take for that acquisition to get up to speed with everything this league has to throw at it? At this point, just in terms of timing, Nguyen is the only viable choice (and I'm almost positive they're not even after him in the first place).
The reporting is that Chicago and Montreal are interested in Nguyen. No mention of the Union being interested.
Well....there was ZERO news about the Union being interested in Accam until the trade was finalized. So you never know....
It seems like the only person who ever cared was Kincaid (@Boyertown2003). There hasn't been any news of any kind since he left.
Even if they ever were interested in Nguyen, the price just became markedly higher given Ilsinho's injury. New England has the Union by the short and curlies if the want Lee.
Not necessarily....EVERY team knows that Nguyen wants out of New England. Plus he does NOT want to play for the Revs. Now's the time to strike a deal. Plus Mike Burns owes Earnie Stewart for the Charlie Daniels trade. What are the Revs going to do??? Stand pat and pay a player to ride the pine? Play a player who obviously does NOT want to be there any longer? They're in a no win (Nguyen) situation.
