2018 U20 CONCACAF tournament

The captain I think is from Chivas. The pachuca player is the other CB Orona, and the RB Alvarez. Orona playing out of position.

 

These dudes slow AF. They were out-physiqued in every possible way.

They’re winning fair and square but it’s unbelievable how many fouls the US got away with. Awful ref.

IDK to what extent the fitness problem can be blamed on the FMF but the clubs have definitely been going easy on their academies in that regard. IMO that’s part of the reason why we consistently succeed at the U17 level where very few players are athletically superior and rarely at U20 where the difference is obvious.

 

Didn't see the game but I'm not surprised. This team defensively isn't good at all. Past teams (past 2 u20s) have been a lot better and the worst thing is that they haven't produced any stars in that area except for Edson Alvarez. If Jamaica and Panama bullied them defensively, the US was going to do it even worse.

 

If anything clubs should be the one getting the criticism for most things instead of the FMF for scheduling bad friendlies or some of the same criticisms over and over.
