Reminded me of the U17 WC, Lainez carrying these scrubs, great assist for the first, and got the pen for the second, but it still wasn't enough.
Mexico 8-0 Grenada some of the players look fatigued tbh 4 games in 6 days not the brightest of ideas
Mexico played their best game in the tournament especially the 2nd half, where they exploited the Granada players physical collapse. They looked done. Now it's up to the Aruba game, who also looked like they collapsed against Jamaica since it was 0-0 at the half and they lost 7-1. Lots of support from the fan although I have question, do people not sing the Mexican anthems outside of the Rose Bowl or is this a Florida Mexican thing. I've never seen the anthem be so silent. And they cheer a lot after it's over, so it's not lack of support I think. Not that this Mexico team looked terribly unbalanced but this makes it as if Mexico wasn't the better team and Jamaica had this great performance either.
Mexico was predictable and slow in transition when they had the lead. Jamaica figured them out and exploited the lack of physical presence in the midfield for Mexico. This really is nothing new, the last couple U20 teams suffered from the same thing, the central midfielders and central defenders just not up to par physically and unable to compete against stronger and faster opponents.
Yes the central midfielders have been pretty terrible especially in getting back the ball. The CB are pretty big but lack ability and speed especially Orona. The only standouts are Lainez and Dominguez and at times Macias. You can really see the difference between the ones who have experience in 1st division and those who don't.
It's difficult for me to get hyped about these games when the opposition is so obviously subpar. The only real match they've had is the one vs Jamaica.
don't know what diego ramirez sees in plasencia hes been below average af much rather take roberto meraz, jonathan gonzalez for the u20 wc
agreed this new format is so dumb they seriously expect us virgin islands sant marteen etc... to qualify? smh.
I feel bad for Jamaica. They’ve had a great group stage, unbeaten, and they just won’t get to the next round. This is bad for both the powerhouses and the second rung teams. And I doubt the minnows will get much out of it either.
championship qualification stage will be in two diff groups whoever wins the groups will go to the final USA Costa Rica Honduras and Mexico El Salvador Panama Mexico plays ES on the 16th and Panama on the 19th
