Very pleased to announce 3-time World Cup veteran Earnie Stewart as the new GM of our Men’s National Team — so that soccer operations are run by soccer experts. Welcome Earnie — the talented players of our #MNT are in great hands! #OneNationOneTeam https://t.co/nZpLcNo9Hg— Carlos Cordeiro (@CACSoccer) June 6, 2018 "So that soccer operations are run by soccer experts." Throwing Sunil under the bus?
What in the dadgummed hell is this nonsense? There are two choices, and she's saying that it shouldn't go to one of those choices. Therefore...
It's like a Never Trump Republican who refused to vote for Hillary, except they at least had other (non-viable) options. I don't think there's a Liechtenstein 2026 write-in campaign here, Hope. Critical thinking is...not her greatest attribute.
It's a damn good thing for us that Hope Solo isn't our Solo Hope. It's a damn good thing for Eric Wynalda's reputation as a Man of Reason that Hope Solo exists.
Instead of writing headlines that say, "Solo says to vote no for U.S. World Cup bid," which is not true, how about taking a hard look at the issues, and realizing the opportunity a World Cup bid presents to create real change? https://t.co/oMiivnIIjs— Hope Solo (@hopesolo) June 8, 2018
"I don't think it should go to the United States." "Actually, I do want the U.S. to host the World Cup." Get your shit together, Hope.
The ‘94 World Cup changed soccer in the U.S. 2026 could do even more if the projected $$ is invested where it’s needed most. I want every kid in America to have equal access and opportunity to play the beautiful game. What do you want to see achieved?— Hope Solo (@hopesolo) June 13, 2018
American media have been scared for years - some of them know what’s going on and chose not to write it- some simply ask “what do you guys need me to spin here”- I’m out because I told the truth -I’m out because I cared about soccer not the free lunch - it’s good to be out https://t.co/A6hvm9y6sM— Eric Wynalda (@EricWynalda) June 14, 2018 "A delusion starts like any other idea, as an egg. Identical on the outside, perfectly formed. From the shell you'd never know anything was wrong. It's what's inside that matters. Albert A, had an idea. One day, as he was walking he stumbled. It seemed that his right leg didn't belong to him. This is how it begins. The leg was clearly Albert's. It was attached to his body and when he pricked it he felt pain, but despite that the idea grew. Such as the power of an idea. With every day that passed. Albert became more and more certain that this was not his leg. He Decided he didn't want it anymore and so one day, he went to the hardware store. You see, an idea alone isn't enough. We have ideas all the time, random thoughts and theories. Most die... before they can grow. For a delusion to thrive, other, more rational idea must be rejected, destroyed. Only then can a delusion blossom, into full blown psychosis."
Wynalda responding to tweet linking single entity to poor open cup attendance Are there people on the other side? This is really sad https://t.co/I0WkmfTAGg— Eric Wynalda (@EricWynalda) June 19, 2018
If the Crew wants to be a club - they might be better off without the “franchise” tag -just a thought @ColumbusCrewSC https://t.co/AndpUoEUcO— Eric Wynalda (@EricWynalda) June 19, 2018
1011094250337886208 is not a valid tweet id Our man wynalda has gone full conspiracy theory, talking about open cup match against the rapids.
Assuming he's talking about the infamous Colorado-ATL USOC game at the Dick a few years ago, yes, yes they were. At least on Atlanta's players and Eric. I'd argue that Pablo got sent for no good reason (the listed reason was leaving the coaching area but as I was standing behind the benches ion the stands that never happened) but otherwise I really didn't have an issue with any of the calls. ATL played a over-the-top physical game that night, even by U.S. Soccer standards, and it culminated with one of theirs raking Drew Moor's face with his studs which set everything off. Eric went ballistic on the sidelines and entered the field IIRC to yell at the refs during it. (And I don't know what he was complaining about since ATL still won the game despite the Rapids having a two-man advantage by the end)
His tweet was that us soccer was taking away his best players one at a time, hoping the rapids would score but they couldn't get it done. By winning the game her managed to best the man.
Yeah, that whole "kicking one of the Rapids best players in the face" had nothing to do with it. STFU Eric.
Here's the cup.us write-up of the game. Of course at that time Eric said nothing about a conspiracy and you'll notice that all 3 of his players got red carded at the same time, not one at a time. http://thecup.us/2014/06/25/2014-us...o-rapids-marred-by-chaotic-scene-7-red-cards/
