So the Boehm report was wrong. No Green Card for Kaye. Kaye is definitly not a domestic player for USSF purposes -- only MLS roster purposes. Tonight -- Jeff Carlisle is reporting on twitter that Portland is dropping their protest after a discussion with MLS/USSF where the league/fed (can we just call it a feague and change the name to MLSF?) said it was their screw up. What I imagine happened is Garber called baby Paulson and told him to drop it because the league wants to promote LAFC this year. I don't imagine we have much of a chance of winning the draw to host the next round. I think it is wrong to have these draws after the two teams are determined. I like the drawing of lots to determine home team prior to the previous round or two. It doesn't trigger my paranoid personality disorder so much.
No not at all.... The DP rule changes just so happen to come into effect when LA wanted to sign another one and nothing was suspicious about the lights "randomly" going out out at MLS Cup twice when we were threatening to score and they claimed rolling blackouts..... in November.
nope, they have played by the same rules at everyone else. We should quit bitching......and just accept they are just better.
sorry, no, the idea on international homegrown was not a transnational permanent designation for a player on his 4th or 5th team, having been to the minors, and having been on an academy for a different team. the idea was meant to cover teams with multinational academies. a kid was in your academy from mexico but doesn't have a green card. you move him up to first team on a work visa. technically old rule he's international because he's a foreign HGP not a green card holder. but under this rule you can have a multinational academy and your -- emphasis on YOUR -- academicians regardless of status are "domestic." you are pretzeling the rule to claim that someone who doesn't grow a player at their home can call them homegrown. we can't do this with Dallas HGP so why can LAFC? I understand why MLS wants this under the rug. this should mean LAFC has been fielding one too many internationals x% of the season including versus Houston. this should mean LAFC cheated against Portland. it would be an ungodly mess to unravel and maybe a fan sues over buying a ticket to watch a game later deemed forfeit. there is also the issue of whatever official told them it was ok. so they got broom and rug and cleaned up their mess. the loophole will be fixed next season i assume. they're now saying international HGP covers players on their second, third, whatever team, if they cross a border after their first team. no way that's what they meant. i know it's what the press release said but a certain president also claims he misspoke when I can see him staring down at his text when he does it both times, so, hmmmph.

Los Angeles FC (MLS) These games will be August 7 or 8. Times are TBD. Final Hosting priority: 1. Chicago Fire 2. Houston Dynamo 3. Los Angeles FC 4. Philadelphia Union (cannot host) The remaining team highest on the list will get to host the final. The Final is September 26.
This will be the Dynamo's third trip to the semifinals but the first time to host the game. If Houston and Philadelphia win the semis then the Dynamo would host the Final.
I missed an announcement during the Draw. The Final is October 3 if Chicago hosts. September 26 otherwise.
Say we advance and so does Philly. IIRC this would be our city's first ever time to host a professional league playoffs Final or Cup Final of any kind. Our Hotshots of indoor fame did well but this is outdoor we are now focused on! I trust our FO would really prep our stadium for such an occasion, and go long on marketing such a Cup Final type of event!!!

I think having home game and possibly home game in the finals bods really well for us. I'm not saying forget about the league, but we have a legitimate shot at winning this. Phili and Chicago are completely beatable. Let's get through the toughest test LA first. The one trophy we have always done shitty at and we don't have! I want this trophy! PS: doesn't this get us a spot in CCL? I really want to get back to that stage again.

So I guess it’s only the USOC Final will be nationally televised on either ESPN or FS1 just like last year or will there be a special live stream like Facebook, Twitter, ESPN+ app, etc.?
Probably just the regular USSF stream for the semifinals like the earlier rounds. I guess they could still announce something but it hasn't been so far.

2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Home team first, times are CT Final Wednesday, September 26 Houston Dynamo (MLS) v. Philadelphia Union (MLS) 7:00 pm ESPN2 I just saw that they have changed the game time. When I bought tickets on Tuesday my rep said that USSF would be finalizing the game time later this week and that Flash tickets wouldn't upload until that happened. That has happened.
Need to make it 8:00. Getting downtown before 6:45 on a Wednesday is a traffic parkng lot on 59 or I-10. One hour later at 7:45 is incredibly less of a traffic hassle.
2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final Wednesday, September 26 Houston Dynamo (MLS) 3-0 Philadelphia Union (MLS) Houston Dynamo win their first U.S. Open Cup.
I realize it's an intraseason title and not your usual championship that ends that year's fixtures, but I found it interesting? telling? that the banner went up this year and not start of next season.
