I cannot get the CW OTA in Northland. Fortunately, they are not having a contract squabble with U-Verse at the moment.
And picture was garbage as well. Somehow Sinclair can produce a half dozen daily news broadcasts with countless adequate sounding microphones, but can't put 2 guys in a booth and have it look any better than Damon Zex.
After watching yesterday on CW, I wonder if they have started just internet streaming the feed onto their network. The quality changes were very similar to streaming apps that drop from HD to SD or even lower, then bump back up. Would probably lower production costs and with so few viewers they may be okay with the trade off.
Thanks. I'm at the age where I thought my vision was slipping and kept squinting at the TV. Other shows were better quality and I thought it was my imagination.
The picture quality was awful of the Orlando broadcast on MLSLive so I bet it had to do something from the feed from the stadium.
I wouldn't be surprised if you're right. Up-close shots looked ok, but distance shots looked muddy. With what Neil told me, I also wonder if speedye1 is on to something. Spectrum could very well be broadcasting home games in true HD, but Sinclair cheaps out and cuts corners. I'd love for someone to record both the Spectrum and Sinclair broadcasts for home and away and check for differences. FWIW, Orlando has a deal similar to our Sinclair deal: https://www.orlandocitysc.com/post/2016/01/06/wrdq-tv-27-new-home-orlando-city-2016
2017 was a one-year renewal for TW/Charter. 2018 is the option year for Sinclair. It all makes sense.
I've met him and seen him in person many a time. Even hung out in his apartment once. He's kind of like a slightly less beefy Danzig. Short, but pumped up.
Will Spectrum come back as the flagship partner? Will we get a spearate streaming option with ESPN+ taking off? Are Neil and Dwight both coming back? Are we going to get a full HD broadcast or will we get a broadcast shot strictly by fans via iPhone around Mapfre? We literally only know that Sinclair will be back as the local OTA broadcast partner.
Just rabbit ears--but in an upstairs room. But my FIL, who had a good home-made antenna, also had difficulty out in Blacklick.
As of last night, the U-Verse guide had the first two games on channel 6. I mean, there's still time for you-know-who to get a deal with Spectrum done, considering they're pursing parallel paths *cough gag retch* end sarcasm #SaveTheCrew
Any word on whether or not Direct Kick will have the 75 mile blackout? I was blacked out a few years ago, but not since Sinclair has been involved.
The schedule seems to be finalized...but the Crew dont' seem to be publicly announcing the details. Check out this tweet from CW: The @ColumbusCrewSC 2018 season is out! Tune in to the CW for all games except Mar 3, Mar 10, Mar 31 and May 9!
