Seen the game. Schmidt was probably key today for the win, also didn't go far from saving the PK. Endo made a save on the line.
I think he has some issue that we don't know. He hasn't played at all in Kashima this season. Last week should have debuted, was taken out at the last minute. This week absent again. No clue wtf is going on really...
Yuma being pulled from the starting lineup last week was a stunt pulled by the coach to mess with the opposing manager, according to one of the players. Well ok...
Ito Tatsuya will be joining on loan from Hamburger SV. I'm not sure of any details for the loan (duration, buy-out clause, etc.). https://www.sponichi.co.jp/soccer/news/2019/08/20/kiji/20190820s00002023022000c.html STVV just keeps the Japanese player train chugging along. I wonder if they have a minimum number of Japanese players they strive to have on their roster?
Hm? The article does not suggest anywhere that it is a loan. It does seem a definitive transfer, actually. I don't think there's any minimum logic involved, but they have a good fanbase in Japan now for sure. However, my personal impression, given the kind of players they get, was that they actually seek for opportunities where they think there is potential for resale (Tomiyasu) or, in the case of loans, (Kamada) players that they think are currently underused. Obviously with all the japanese staff they have, they already know the players much better so they already know if they should "go" or not. They kinda have an advantage, in a sense. Who would have bought Tomiyasu from J2 otherwise, after all?
Tatsuya Ito officially joins Sint Truiden today from Hamburg SV: 🇯🇵🐥 #WelcomeTatsuya ➡️ Meer info via https://t.co/m8BWy7GEhJ.#STVV #Transfers #AllemoalSintruin pic.twitter.com/sBWTRr18ro— STVV (@stvv) August 22, 2019
https://www.truineer.be/nl/sint-truiden/yuma-suzuki-opnieuw-in-the-game STVV coach Marc Brys sounds ecstatic that Yuma is back in training, hyping up his goalscoring prowess and claiming that he was clamoring to sign him earlier during last season. But he also indicates that there was indeed a mental health/non-physical aspect to the striker's mysterious absence.
Another start for Daniel Schmidt, Suzuki on the bench, while Ito and other new signings are not part of the match-day squad. They are facing Eupen, for which Toyokawa is starting as usual.
There's an interview of CEO Tatsumi Tateishi around in the belgian press, which I try to sum-up. - This summer they signed 15 new players; - He understands that some fans might be disappointed that most of them are not belgian players; - However in reality even those players can be very expensive, so it's hard to find good deals; - Tomiyasu's transfer didn't really generate a profit to reinvest as the team had a previous debt of 6 millions that they now closed; - DMM.com can invest up to 4 millions per year, but hopefully it can be increased as years go by with plusvalences\injections - Wants the team to finish 10th or better in the league table - Would like the team to reach Europa League by 2027 Also for those who can read japanese, I highly recommend this reading: https://sports.yahoo.co.jp/contents/4352 split in several parts, it describes the whole "STVV project" from the beginning. As you can imagine, the group was looking for a country where the football level was good but not too high as it would have to serve as "bridge" for japanese players, and at the same time the country in question would have had to have very "relaxed" rules on non-UE players.
Yuma Suzuki came in as a substitute in the 84th minute, he almost assisted one of his teammates. This marks Yuma Suzuki’s first match since the Emperor’s cup match against Urawa Reds (5/December/2018), which means this is his first competitive match since almost 9 months. Schmidt pulled 2 good saves as he made his second consecutive clean-sheet.
Actually, most clubs operate in debt lol. It's not like STVV would have ceased just because there was some debt. In this case the management preferred to seal it.
Still warming to know someone is interested in making the base more solid rather than just splashing the market.
Do you have a link to this article? Tough to comment on whether this was the right decision. Sounds like the terms of the debt (i.e. interest rate) justified paying it off immediately in the eyes of Tateishi et al., but in any case they were still able to bring in players like Schmidt, Suzuki, Lee, and Ito during this window.
I had to read multiple articles, because each reporter basically focused on some points and went short on some others. I just tried to look for them but I can't really remember, sorry... https://www.hbvl.be/cnt/dmf20190830...preekt-eindelijk-tiende-plaats-is-het-minimum https://www.voetbalkrant.com/nieuws...taag-groeien-qua-budget-en-sportieve-ambities https://www.voetbalprimeur.be/nieuw...zijn-ex-club-hij-is-gewoon-onbetaalbaar-.html By the way, I don't know why I called him Tatsumi as his name is Takayuki, lol.
Thanks. The first article from HBvL (paywalled) has the bulk of the info, but it was copied to a STVV fan forum: https://www.stvvforum.be/viewtopic.php?t=1607&start=3825 lots of pressure on Tatsuya and his representatives!
