He is. And, in case you missed it, February 23 was banana bread day! In the US there's a day for almost everything, most of it never heard of, including national banana day. And, the best of all, in half an hour, when April 17 arrives, it will be "blah blah blah day." I kid you not! (And also Ford Mustang day and haiku poetry day.) WE NEED MORE GAMES BEFORE WE GO CRAZY! And, for those who thought the Portland weather was "crappy" on Sunday, for Friday's game it's supposed to be sunny and 70 degrees.
Well, I didn't even know banana bread existed, let alone its national day! Don't you ever get the feeling that having a national day for everything is like not having national days at all?
Can't be serious about Banana Day, but it exists (in the U.S. there is a "Day" for just about anything). https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/banana-day/
For those of you predicting tomorrow's Houston vs Red Stars game, it is supposed to be nasty weather in Chicago, rain mixed with snow. I heard different parts of the city are going to have different mix of weather, but nasty all the way around, especially in the evening which is around game time. I'll let you know more tomorrow as then day unfolds.
In Argentina, they have a day in April that’s a public holiday. Nobody knows why, but it’s a long stretch between holidays without it.
Today is National cheese Ball day. Get ready for tomorrow’s National animal cracker day. https://statesymbolsusa.org/symbol-official-item/national-us/state-holiday-event/american-holidays
You will when the Yellowstone super volcano finally blows again. It blows about every 600,000 years. The last one was 630,000 years ago.
Predictions: North Carolina 2, Seattle 1 Chicago 1, Houston 1 Portland 3, Washington 0 North Carolina 2, Utah 0 Chicago 1, SkyBlue 0 Orlando 1, Houston 1
For those who haven't posted predictions for today's games yet, reminder that game time for the first game is 7:00 pm ET. Courage v Reign 7:00 pm ET Red Stars v Dash 7:30 pm ET
North Carolina 2, Seattle 0 Chicago 1, Houston 0 Portland 2, Washington 0 North Carolina 1, Utah 0 Chicago 1, SkyBlue 0 Orlando 1, Houston 1
Well, I find quite ironic that, when I decided to stick with NC Corage usual 1-0 win pattern, they decided to have their only different score of this season so far, and a completely different one in goals scored by each team and goal difference, a 4-2. When I didn't want to have them win by 1-0 anymore, they came back to their usual habits vs Seattle! Oh, well For what concerns next week-end predictions, here are mine: POR 2 WAS 1 NC 1 RSL 0 (ok, let's see if they punish me again! ) CHI 2 SFC 0 ORL 3 HOU 2
Here's the mid-week report (a number of us didn't post predictions for yesterday's games): (I have liesse00 on the list since he/she posted predicted final standings, but he/she otherwise hasn't posted any individual game predictions.)
Predictions for Friday through Sunday, Apr. 20 - 22: Por - DC, 2 - 1 NC - Utah, 3 - 1 Chi - NJ, 2 - 0 Orl - Hou, 2 - 0
For this weekend: Portland 3 v Washington 1 North Carolina 1 v Utah 1 Chicago 2 v NYNJ 1 Orlando 2 v Houston 1
I'd say it has to be "Beat the robot" day! Come on people, let's work a little harder to predict!!! @cpthomas' robot, right now is second to @CoachJon only! Let's fight for the human league!
I was 2 pts up on @cpthomas before Wednesday's games, and I almost copied his predictions to guarantee I would stay ahead on the season, but I did not do that and I lost a point. He has graciously posted his predictions before me again. However I gotta do my own thing and not worry about what the competition is doing. Predictions for Weekend 4/20-4/22 Portland 3 v Washington 2 (I love Eckerstrom, but the lack of time with the defense will surface) North Carolina 2 v Utah 1 Chicago 1 v NYNJ 1 Orlando 1 v Houston 2 (Brazil & Oz won't be back, and, for a change, Prince won't suck)
Oz will be anyway depressed, when they will come back, because they just lost the final of Asian Cup to Japan. Sorry, I couldn't help the off-topicness on a day like today.
The robot has the Thorns getting 3 goals today, and I see some others have them getting 3 goals too. Here are some stats from the last roughly 100 games: A team scored 0 goals 22% of the time 1 goal 35% 2 goals 26% 3 goals 10% 4 goals 5% 5 or 6 goals 2% I didn't like the robot predicting 3 goals for the Thorns, but I have to follow my rules.
