    It's happening now.

Perth finished 8 out of 10 in the A League, but they have a new stadium and a lot of money to throw at us, I guess.

We're up 1-0 at the moment.

    With that 11 I'm surprised it's only 1

Apparently we dominated everything in the first 45.

Lots of subs in 2nd half.

Attendance is 55,522. Perth Glory matches averaged 9K last season.

That's it. 1-0 win. We're going to win it all this season.

Perth is ridiculously far from London. From anywhere.

On a good assist from Hudson-Odoi, apparently.

reading morata missed some chances through on goal but was getting himself in good positions etc.

seemed some decent stuff on show in the first half, especially with Jorginho running the show. he completed 98 passes in the first 45 before subbing off.

I watched the game on Chelsea TV.

    Good points:

The new Italian/Brazilian midfield player looks very promising.
    Hudson-Odoi was excellent.

Tammy looking better than Morata but both were short of service to be fair.

Lots of good one touch passing at pace rather than slowly like last year.

Even Ross Barclay looked promising so that shows how good Perth were

    Bad points :

With all the posesion we need to create more real chances

    Bakayoko still crap.

Overall not bad for a first game with 14 players to return from the World Cup.

We need to get used to 4 at the back again very quickly if this is the system we are going to play. Even Perth caused US a few nasty moments

man, i'm not sure how Bakayoko will fit in this system honestly.

good shout on the back 4. though with Luiz and Ampadu anchoring, that was likely to happen anyway maybe.

    thanks for the notes.

Sounds like we did OK? However Fulham did beat these guys 5-0 I believe! Still performance was the key issue and considering it was Sarri's first game it sounds like they did OK, apparantly Hudson-Odi and Barkeley were standouts?

First half we looked decent and should have scored 3-4. Pleasantly impressed by Barkley in this game. Morata was his usual misfiring self. Jorginho was the main engine. The guy sees passes even before he gets the ball like Cesc, only much more dynamic. Our quality dropped in the 2nd half when he was taken off. Hudson-Odoi looked decent.

First game and all but I liked that we had so many options in the box while attacking.

He's likely loaned out or sold for another player.

As others have said, Hudson-Odoi looked pretty good and tried to make things happen.

We played a shit team tho. Let's see how he does against better teams and when the game matters. Anyone think he stays or goes on loan?

He needs to be playing regularly so needs a decent loan deal I'd say.

    Hmmm... good question.

Maybe abroad might be best? In the Championship it can be a bit 'cloggy', if you know what I mean. :D

Watching the inter friendly on espnnews. Why on earth are we playing this one in France against a non- French team? What's the marketing play here?

Crowd is predictably laughable. If they claim 10,000 they are probably lying.

Pedro with the early midas touch once again.

A win on penalties without a miss. The definition of no pressure so doesn't tell us anything other than Jorginho has an interesting technique.

Potential injury to AC would be my main concern at this point. Not sure should be getting minutes just yet but given the number of members who went further it's understandable Sarri would want to drip feed them back into the squad.

Did anyone catch their goal? I took a break for most of the 2nd half.

Just saw the highlight and Baka made a horrible pass/touch straight into a turnover. That turnover lead straight to the goal.
