Kevin Stott has a pretty long record of screwing this club one way or another, and that's all I'm going to say about that.
When you’ve suffered through 20+ years of ineptitude in any kind of knockout tournament feel free to ask again!
Fer fecks sake, you won the Supporters Shield. A much more prestigious trophy than the Cup, and you won it by topping a team that broke the season record. Sorry if I don't cry a river for the Red Bulls. And I find the irony of NY fans lecturing Atlanta on heart break delicious and tasty.
Certainly that game was not a case of the ref influencing the outcome. I have yet to find a Red Bulls fan that claims it was.
As of this hour's injury update: nothing new thankfully. Except Kemar is still "questionable". I'd be shocked if he could play. Sad that.
Gez. I have never heard that before. Seriously, and I hate the ankle biter, but you have the most successful season in MLS history and you are talking about blowing it all up and rebuilding?
And my yellow badge of courage was earned on the politics board. They don't like a difference of opinion at the PC@E. I'd rather earn it here, where we trade ideas 'bout soccer,
Most people, myself included, have not advocated anything close to resembling "blowing it all up". Not a great approach to generalize what one or two posters said. Let's move on.
For anyone who didn't see it, here's Chris Armas's interview yesterday... https://www.newyorkredbulls.com/post/2018/11/27/new-york-red-bulls-know-what-they-need-do For those of us who felt we should've pressed higher, it's worth listening to his defense of that decision. You can nitpick Armas in different ways perhaps, but you really can't argue that he's one cool cucumber. I'm pretty sure I'm going to this match tomorrrow. I just wish the tie had been the other way around, where we played in NJ on a Sunday, and Atlanta got the weeknight. Oh well, that's water under the bridge, long ago.
"We lost 3 nothing on the road... we are in somewhat of a hole". Not sure what that means other than coach speak. I am hoping Atlanta comes out looking for that away goal, otherwise this could be a dire affair.
BTW, Chris Armas can suck the life out of an interview like he sucked the life out of important matches. What an ankle biter.
In case anyone was wondering there's this... https://www.bigsoccer.com/forums/atlanta-united-fc.1142/
No problem with the way we came out. Not what I would have done, but I’m not a pro. The problem was abandoning the game plan in the second half. For some reason we decided we didn’t like how the first half went even though it only took a Parker screw up to gift them a soft goal. Instead we threw numbers forward with reckless abandon and left our defense exposed to a very good attack. Dumb. If you’re gonna press then press. If you’re gonna sit in then sit in. Don’t waffle.
Looks like my companion for tomorrow night is bailing out. So I'll have a spare seat next to me. Good seat, near front of 2nd tier, like 35 yard line. Anyone who's interested, PM me.
I thought we would at least fall short like 2-0 with lots of hit posts. Now it will be an 89th minute goal to win 1-0.
