Well it is apt, he kept NDL onside in 2012 and has been part of MPF his entire career. That is an epitome if I ever saw one.
Yesterday, after a few years, I went to see the Terps playing Michigan (2-4), what really caught my attention is the almost absence of contacts (fouls) during the game, I could count them on the fingers of a hand, and only two were a little rougher. I mean, in theory it's better than players breaking legs to the opponents, but no wonder when they arrive at pro level, they get the biggest reality check...
Since the Michigan futbol players don't wear helmets, did they carve those traditional goofy helmet stripes into their hairstyles instead? Schmucks.
Multiple sources say Atlanta trading Nagbe to be reunited with Caleb Porter in Columbus. In exchange, Atlanta gets $$$$$$. I guess Nagbe is the Pipa replacement.
"New York City FC today announced that the Club and Head Coach Domènec Torrent have mutually agreed to part ways. "— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) November 8, 2019
He and his entire staff is available, apparently. If we want to go full Catalan/Spanish in our coaching staff, here is our chance. (Seriously, it won't happen because Torrent felt frustrated and limited by MLS rules and is doubtless headed back to Europe.)
We could move Ben into the FO and get Torrent’s staff. We can kick Ass-ton to the curb as well. I hate NYCFC but they sure played well.
Despite loving to hate Landon, when it comes to USMNT, he competed and gave everything for the crest. That's missing. I agree with him. http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=28068061
Of note: "Spirit will be offering fans round trip transportation from Germantown to Audi Field and Segra Field. The Spirit will also begin a program to cover the cost of tolls for fans traveling to Segra Field from outside Loudoun County." https://t.co/gC1b8LttEo— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) November 12, 2019 Too bad DCU never helped me with tolls coming from Loudoun I can cross over the toll road in two different places to get to Segra
Anyone else think that Segra should have natural grass? I can understand why a team may want a synthetic surface practice field in addition to a grass field, but when a team has a choice for its competition field it should be grass.
They dug up a beautiful grassy area to lay that garbage down in the first place - I would love real turf out there - there are plenty of turf-farms nearby to resupply it whenever it needs it.
Its messed up when players are out there liking tweets about coaches getting fired ... Going to go out on a limb and say @_moadams won't be the only former (or current) Chicago Fire player to like that tweet. pic.twitter.com/GXvHacCwhr— Ives Galarcep (@SoccerByIves) November 13, 2019
maybe he shouldn't have been such a shit coach, then players and fans wouldn't have to be so excited by his removal If the news of my VP at work leaving the company had been on twitter I could not have helped myself from liking it
Italy was already qualified for the Euro, however they went to Bosnia and smashed them 3-0. It may seem a meaningless win but this game actually equalized or broke some Italian NT records: - 10th consecutive win overall (the previous record - 9 - lasted since 1938-39) - 10th consecutive win for a single coach (Mancini) - the previous record of 9 games belonged to Vittorio Pozzo in the 1938-39 season - record number of wins (12) in the first 18 games for a single coach - Mancini shares this record with two other coaches (Trapattoni and Sacchi) - record of consecutive wins (9) in a single eliminatory group for the Euro qualifiers - record of consecutive wins (13) in Euro qualifiers - record of consecutive undefeated games (39) in Euro qualfiers - record of consecutive wins (9) in a calendar year - record of overall wins (9) in a calendar year (already estabilshed in 4 other different occasions - this record may be broken if Italy beats Armenia on monday) - record number of games won (9) in proportion to the number of games played in a calendar year It feels really good for me to see Italy doing this well after all the recent years of struggle.
Is that true if you're only playing on it occasionally? I mean, if you could limit use to once a week, and give it two weeks break every two months, or limit use after extended rains, would it be as expensive to maintain? Just curious. I can't get my grass to stop growing.
It’s a totally different kind of grass. And my expectation is that they made the same kind of deal with the Loudon Co govt that they’d get as much utilization out of the facility as poobole like they did at Audi field. Don’t forget, it’s not just up keep, it’s a staff of grounds keepers that you don’t need.
See, I thought so. They're using the wrong grass. I was just thinking in a place like Loudoun where you've got land for miles, they should have two fields, end to end with concrete slabs poured along the sidelines. Have the stands on wheels and just move the stadium when one of the fields gets worn out.
Reyna quits NYCFC. Torrent already left. They lost US International Ben Sweat in the expansion draft and Keaton Parks got his loan recalled. If you hate Manchester City USA the way I do, it's been a great off season so far.
