20 minutes into Atlanta's first game without him, they were down 3-0.

That wasn't the first time they have played without him. NYC is at the top of the Conference. Their season is somewhat overlooked because of more popular teams like Atlanta while LAFC was running away with the West and securing the Supporter's Shield only last night.

If you read Petke's breach of contract complaint, Waibel was very unhappy with the way Hansen handled this mess. He is quoted in the complaint as saying he would be out of RSL by season's end so this doesn't surprise me -- but it does add some corroboration to the statement of facts in the complaint.

 

If the NY Yankees do well in their autismball playoffs then NYCFC will be forced to move their home playoff game to the NY Mets stadium.

 

That is so ********ing funny on so many levels. Maybe there is a Supreme Being and she has a wicked sense of humor.

 

The best part for me is that the original MLS negotiations were for a stadium over in the Flushing Meadows area before they handed the project off to City and the Yankees.

 

Why can't they play at Giant Stadium (or whatever they call it)?

 

Because they base all their marketing on the fact that they are the city's team.

 

I'm not surprised. When are they going to decide that that is not convenient? I'm sure the Yankee side of the conglomerate is eager for that to happen.

 

Everyone wants it to happen. The current setup is terrible for all parties. Yankee Stadium is a $2.3 billion dollar shithole that's worse for soccer than RFK during the baseball years.

But Mayor DeBlasio (wisely) doesn't want to throw public money that should be buying books for schoolchildren at an Emirati trillionaire. It's hard to see how that will ever change in NYC's political reality.

 

Obvious solution. New Jersey can trade East Rutherford for something, maybe Staten Island with New York State then NYC can annex E Rutherford and voila, Manchester City West has a NYC stadium to play in.

 

Put Greenland into the mix and you may have a winner!

 

Meh. The obvious solution is simply being allowed to build next to Yankees Stadium and eliminate some parking structures.
