Elfath gets the NW derby, Stott gets the always fun Atlanta - Orlando game, and JC Rivero gets the SJ/LAG match.
Stott's actually never reffed Atlanta yet so this will (re)complete his league tour. All 26 teams in league history.
Elfath loves to backpedal and he's really fast at it. I think he covered 20 yards in about 3 seconds. Yeah. This game has been that bad.
The non-YC on the SPA in the 7th (8th?) minute for Kee-Hee was jaw-dropping. Elfath's been watching too many Group Stage WC games...
I think I just saw a caution for entering the referee review area in Toronto - NYRB in the 76th minute.
Yeah, the caution was interesting, and so was the review. Parker definitely handled with his right hand while falling, but I don't think that's deliberate. What I think he may have gotten caught doing is handling with his left arm before getting knocked over. I need a better angle, though.
I caught exactly what it was but only the very first replay showed what happened. It wasn't the hand rolling on the ball when he was falling, it was before that when he reached down and hit the ball with his open hand. The live camera and the very first Fox replay from the ARs side showed it clearly. As usual, the MLS website clip shows absoutely nothing.
IMO the handling occurs just before the push in the back, but it's really close. https://i.imgur.com/iCkivtL.mp4
And as I mentioned, the problem is the Fox coverage focused on the right hand falling on the ball after being pushed leading fans to think that is what the PK is for. It's certainly an example of how being able to see exactly what the ref sees at the World Cup is a major improvement.
Yeah, first thing I want to see for video review in MLS: live link up with whatever is being viewed by the referee (or VAR in the case of factual decisions). At least let us see what they're looking at!
