Marie is not even all that young at 23. We should have traded up and selected Chris Mueller, he's only 21, looked great at the combine, and had 9 goals and 20 assists (the most in college) in 2017... After his goal and assist against us, he's got 3G 1A over his last three MLS games. I hate that this is relevant........I HATE it. We shouldnt be counting on the draft in 2018/19 to acquire talent, but we unquestionably will be. and we BETTER be waiting to the top of round 2 to pick a keeper. I agree that a keeper is needed, but not til round 2. we need the BPA field player too. No 1 overall will almost certainly be Manny Perez........and if he isnt we sprint our card to the front of the table and plug him into right mid immediately and have Lima and Perez run overlaps all day.
