Not sure if the Union wouyld be willing to trade/loan him: Minnesota United taking strong interest in Philadelphia homegrown MF Derrick Jones, a US youth intl who made first start of year at Portland last weekend. Unclear whether a trade or maybe even a loan is realistic. #mls— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) August 8, 2018
Looked pretty good early last year but he has been buried this year behind a bunch of vets. He has shown well in USL so far this year and really should be given an opportunity somewhere to fight for first team minutes.
Rapids reportedly in advanced talks to turn Castillo's loan into a purchase: https://us.as.com/us/2018/08/08/futbol/1533742867_898397.html
Sounders loan Australian Brad Smith from Bournemouth for the remainder of the season. https://www.soundersfc.com/post/201...-old-fullback-brad-smith-afc-bournemouth-loan This does create an interesting situation for the Sounders as they already have two LB on the roster, one of which (Waylon Francis) is reportedly on the trading block. Francis was reportedly to be included in a trade with NER for Kelyn Rowe, but the Sounders soured on the trade as NER bumped the asking price up to Nouhou and an unspecified pile of TAM/GAM.
This move is official now. https://www.sportingkc.com/post/201...ns-28-year-old-spanish-defender-andreu-fontas

I don't know exactly how we ended up with this pipeline of Barcelona B players to SKC, but surely this means Messi is going to play here in a couple years, right?

Told that Jorge Villafaña has agreed to a 3.5 year deal to move back to MLS. Told he'll be a TAM player in '18. Haven't confirmed where he'll end up, but @TimbersFC seem to be teasing the move. He'll go through allocation, meaning Portland will likely have to trade up to get him.— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) August 8, 2018 I"m told that #lagalaxy will recieve a GAM/TAM combo of around $175k in exchange for top allocation spot, which Portland will use to acquire Villafaña. #RCTID. https://t.co/zOS74ClZKd— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) August 8, 2018
Instead of moving to a first-place team with an established goalkeeper, like he did when he went to Denmark, now Hamid is going to a last-place team with an established goalkeeper. This is a much better move for him. I hope that if Steffen goes to Europe, he will have learned from Hamid's experience. Pick a team that needs a goalkeeper.
Interestingly, Hamid is now competing with two keepers that BOTH were starters in Denmark before the came (or in Clark's case, returned) to MLS.
Fallacy. The only thing we’ve established in DC is that none of our choices in goal are as good as Hamid when he was on his way out. It’ll take a month for Bill to round back into shape, but he should wind up being a better choice than the two goofballs we have right now. As bad as the defense is, however, that’s not a month we have to give. Thx, Jay!
Clark was quite terrible when playing relegation play-off's for Horsens, which is why they send him packing after only a year at the club, while Randers did not want to extend Ousted's contract after they had just won promotion to the Danish Superliga, so we can hardly compare this with Hamid signing with an FCM team that became Danish Champions last season and actually refuse to sell Hamid but want him back when his loan deal expire (his contract with FCM does not expire before 1. July 2022)
"Playing" is generous. He's basically been pinned to the bench under Hudson, largely because he was displaced by a formation change and acquisitions this year such as Jack Price.
Rapids make a new homegrown signing, from the press conference announcement (today at noon, nice 2 hour notice there...):
I guess we should note that the Crew have loaned out midfielder Mohammed Abu to Valerenga in Norway for the rest of the season.
I really hope he uses his last name for his shirt. I'm hearing that #MNUFC is looking to sign Brazilian defensive midfielder Fernando Bob. Having last played with Ponte Preta, the 30 year old is trialing with the Loons this week. He is currently a free agent.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) August 15, 2018
