So San Jose and Toronto are the lightest of grays, right? White sleeves give away that tint on the front of Toronto and back of SJ kits...
Ask and ye shall receive? The wait is over. Introducing the 2018 kit.📝: https://t.co/Pi5aVkB5zU https://t.co/WJ1z6cbH2c— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) February 8, 2018
Eh, with all of the teams releasing black/gray secondaries this year, I was hoping the 'quakes would release a new blue jersey and, I dunno, relegate the black to de facto secondary, or absent that, swap out the red on their current secondaries (which I think are quite nice) for blue, but by itself this jersey isn't that that great. Hopefully they go back to blue/black/blue for their primary next year. The subtle blue on the collar and the combo of shirt/shorts/socks really make this for me. Very nice look for CO this year.
Interesting note on the Rapids jersey, now that we know its burgundy, the Rapids will (finally) have spent a majority of their existence in burgundy. This will be season 12 in burgundy, while green and blue/black combined lasted 11 seasons.
In other words, the Rapids have now been outfitted to resemble Stan Kroenke's NHL team for a majority of their history.
I liked the Rapids kit with white sleeves. The all burgundy needs a touch more of the light blue somewhere.
The Montreal Impact jersey updated, but no new jersey for this year. New 25 year anniversary patch and silver numbers. Its not bad, but considering they have been wearing that kit since 2016, i would have designed a new stripped kit with solver accents and numbers.
I don't buy it. It's an anniversary season, they're due to change jerseys and they'll just... stick with what they have? They already ran a fake-out when they unveiled this kit in 2016. This seems like another ploy to build hype.
The more i think about it.. Why would the Montreal Impact not take the fact that its their 25th anniversary to create a new jersey all together? I'm sure there would be a lot more revenues, then just adding a patch and silver numbers. I can't see how they would pass on that opportunity to make money, that would be a bad business move...
This is gonna look pretty sharp with the blue shorts. I never cared for the white sleeves they've had in the past
Bolded for emphasis. Who would buy a kit they already own again, just because it got a few new fancy stickers? It would be utterly stupid from Montreal’s FO to willingly miss out on a vast chunk of their anniversary kit sales. This can’t be it.
I've ordered 6 dollar patches and sewn them on. Margins probably ain't great compared to a new kit purchase. the rapids full kit i like. Still want more light blue on top. Eh, minority but I still have the old black and green, going back to Kappas.
