We’ve tried incrementalism for the past 25 years....the party has moved right...think 90s GOP. There is a deliberate effort to move to the center in order to fill the vacuum left by the GOP swinging right. No thank you.
Paging @American Brummie. IIRC, both parties have moved to the wings, only that the GOP move have been more extreme. Democrat Centrism exists, but the party as a whole is more to the left than 20 years ago. Regarding incrementalism, Clinton years (with all the issues and caveats) worked and Obama pulled a few great accomplishments, despite the irrational/hateful opposition from the GOP. Has anyone in the far left wing accomplished anything, any legislation worth mentioning?
I still have a crew out getting the FEMA camps ready. Sorry about that. No one told me this was supposed to be secret.
Jeezus, Lou!!! Ok don't worry about, this project is delayed already. Can't wait to send them the change order!!!
There aren't "other ways" to draw the Europe-Asia line through Turkey when it's a body of water that's been there for thousands of years.
Oh, there are other ways. There is no particular geographic reason that the tiny Bosporus (only about one to two miles wide) and the Dardanelles have to be part of a European-Asian dividing line. It's just an arbitrary boundary that developed over time. One school of thought is that there is no Europe and Asia at all, only Eurasia. "Today, the past confusion in defining continents leads most geographers to identify only six continents by combining Europe and Asia into Eurasia. In fact, the division of Eurasia into two continents based on the definition of continents is now dated." https://blog.nationalgeographic.org/2013/07/09/geography-in-the-news-eurasias-boundaries/
Mitt came in second at the Utah GOP convention, so he will have to go through a primary in order to get nominated.
There is no natural body of water that totally separates Asia with Africa. I always love any excuse to post this.
And there are also schools of thought that hold that there are 4 continents, with one of them being Europe-Asia-Africa, and another being the Americas. So what?
You were the one insisting the dividing line between Asia and Europe was the Bosporus/Dardanelles. Or at least you seemed to be saying that, your post was a bit murky. Brummie also thought that's what you meant. I've been saying all along Europe and Asia could be divided in a number of ways, or not at all.
Yes, but one way has more or less been unchanged since possibly Antiquity, at least in the region of Thrace/Anatolia. It matters in Istanbul, it matters in business, it matters and is pretty much non-negotiable in several contexts. When we discuss matters of, say, geological significance, we have a different discussion.
Things are getting awkward in Utah https://www.motherjones.com/politic...just-hit-a-roadblock-heres-what-happens-next/
No, we are always at war with Eastasia. I have reported your error to Big Soccer Brother. BTW, to correct the record on this, Eurasia is only about a third (36%) of the world's landmass. It just looks like it's about half, thanks to the Mercator Map illusion.
Liberals on P&CE: How is it that so many Americans don't trust the experts on politics? Liberals on P&CE later today: Lesco's bare win in AZ-08, the average specials trend, the generic ballot, and Trump's historically bad approval numbers don't mean anything and the GOP is going to end democracy. Gonna be a great conversation. Can't wait.
